Great post there Dizzy. Your points are strong. I don't know about the Miller thing, I like him,I just think he'll be gone. I hope everything you postulate comes to fruition.
Damn, did I really write that last line?

Dear Lord, please get us Chris Simon.
**** Nolan. I don't have any definitive proof, but I have always had the feeling that that guy is a cancer.
In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the donuts.
Dizz has sone excellent good things to say about MC.
But I have to disagree about his coaching ability and how well he'd do as our coach.
I can give you 5 reasons why he won a cup in Av-land...5 HOF reasons that is: Roy, Sakic, Forseberg, Blake, Bourque. We don't have a single player up to ANY of those (5) levels on this team. The Av's had talent this team will never probably have. That team was stacked.
I look more at the last few years in Vancouver where he had pretty good teams that didn't even make the playoffs.
In my book he hasn't done a whole lot, that is I don't see him really getting his teams to play better than their talent level.
Combine it with the idea that he's very much like AM and that the fatigue of a similar coach's style will cause then I'd have to say he's not the best choice for what we got as of now.
OTOH...if Dean's gonna make whole-sale changes that we don't know about yet????
Who knows?
You only have 4 reasons...Bourque wasn't there for Crawford's cup !!Originally Posted by Rocket

So losing their top 3 D-men (including the two top PP quarterbacks for almost the entire stretch run) doesn't count?Originally Posted by jt
Will be? Garon is 1 year younger than him. How much more must we see from Garon to finally have the label of career backup stick? Also you seem to forget that Toskala actually got stronger as the year went on unlike Garon who faded after his stellar December. Toskala played so strongly down the stretch that he ripped the starting job away from Nabokov, who earlier in the year signed a 4yr/21.5 million dollar contract extension. I'm not seeing stamina issues like you claim, sorry. The way I remember the Kings season going Garon was pretty much the better of two average netminders when he became the clear cut starter. Then came the terrific December.Originally Posted by jt
As for not having the patience go back to Game 6 of the Sharks v. Oilers series and watch the Oilers go 1 for 7 on breakaways versus Toskala. The guy is nails between the pipes when his head is in it. He looked as confident as ever in that game.
Garon will never be Toskala.
