Thanks for the update...I'll be honest...this is the one thing I am looking forward to this next year.
Wouldn't it be great if his work ethic rubbed off on a few of the other guys?

hey new user here...yesterday i went to sticks and pucks here in michigan and Jack was there with his dad and little brother...the LA Kings were doing a video shoot with him and i got an autograph and shook Jack's hand...it was a great day
Honestly how stupid was Carolina for trading this guy for Gleason and Belanger??? As much as this site whines and moans about DL, how many teams in the NHL wouldn't have traded a 3rd line center and a 2nd or 3rd defensive pairing guy for JJ? He deserves a few free passes after pulling that one off.
thanks you for posting this, the updates on JMFJ's progress brighten all our days.
JMFJ FTW!
I used to work at a huge fitness facility in Calgary (the Talisman Centre) and we'd get NHLers in there often. The Calgary Flames even did their preseason fitness testing there once. Here is some random observations that I remember clearly:
-Iginla benched 395 four times and his quads are insane. He's also super nice.
-Chris Simon is bad ass and broke the exercise bike's chain when he was doing a sprint test. I wouldn't mess with him.
-Darren McCarty looked like a crackhead and not athletic at all. No wonder his NHL career has nosedived. He's done.
- I saw Mike Vernon (not working out) and he's even shorter in person but his head is huge.
- A long time Devils prospect Adrian Foster would work out there all the time but all he'd ever do was stretch and use tubing for resistance. No wonder he could never stay healthy and make the big club, he trained like a puss.
- Now the person who I saw on a very regular basis was Dany Heatley. He was there all the time and close friends with one of the trainers who I worked with. All he ever did was ride the exercise bike and play basketball. I couldn't believe how easy he took it. Sounds like JMFJ could out train him any day but I can't argue with Heatley's results. Hopefully JMFJ isn't over-training and become injury prone. As a New York Giants fan, I get a laugh out of hearing that he trains with Wheatley. That guy was a piece of crap for the G-Men.
Thanks, JJF!
Jack is lucky to have such a good friend in you btw!
And we are lucky for your being so open and sharing with us. Definitely keep it coming whenever you feel like it!
Hopefully Jack won't hurt you though by slugging you (or tapping you even) since you are his friend, cause I enjoy the updates too much to lose ya, JJF!
Jack looked great in "Rookie Camp" today though--so something must be paying off. You should come to L.A. for it, it's awesome to watch!
