    Bet accordingly.

And, I will have my full report on 171st draft picks by tomorrow...found a website where it is easy to do, but then I keep getting distracted by the other late round picks who have or have not made it.
After many years of watching those bastards win it all and thump us in the process, I am now going to relish in their slow demise into the Black Hole by just missing the playoffs on and off for the next 10 years.

    I'm mobile.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

OK...here is my report on 171st draft picks. And can I just say that Chicago has a special knack for selecting really good players in the later rounds! The first name is the 171st pick for each year (with a note about how many games they played), followed by a few noteworthy late round picks for each year with their overall pick #. Or at least the player from the later rounds with the most games played in the NHL. Some years were pretty sucky. But I had fun looking all this up.

Christian Tanguay (2 games), Randy Cunnyworth 167th
Tim Army (never played in NHL), Dave Hannan 196th
Miroslav Ihnacak (56 games), Kelly Miller 183rd
Rob Kivell (0 games), Stu Grimson 186th, Domini Hasek 199th
Luc Robitaille, Brett Hull 117th
Jamie Huscroft (352 NHL games), Kelly Buchberger 188th, Igor Larionov 214th
Scott MCCormack (O NHL games), Dave McLlwain 172nd
Craig Daly (0 games), Theoren Fleury 166th, Sean McEachern 110th (not the greatest draft year!)
Dan Wiebe (0 games played), Brett Hedican 198th
Jeff St. Laurent (0 games), Donald Audette 183rd (another lame group overall)
Tony Gruba (0 games), Jaroslav Modry 179th, Ken Klee 177th
Brian Savage (674 games), Sean O’Donnell 123rd
Ryan Smith (0 games), Ian Laperriere 158th
Martin Woods (0 games), Todd Marchant 164th, Pavol Demitra 227th
Dan Reja (0 games), Tim Thomas 217th, Tomas Holmstrom 257th, Daniel Alffedsson 133rd
Marek Melenovsky (0 games), Stephane Robidas 164th, Michal Handzus 101st
Greg Kuznik (1 game), Willie Mitchell 199th
Rod Leroux (0 games), Andrew Ference 208th, Shawn Thornton 190th
Pavel Datsyuk, Michael Ryder 216th,
Chris Legg (0 games), George Parros 222nd, Radim Vrbata 212th, Henrik Zetterberg 210th
Roman Cechmanek (212 games), Henrik Lundqvist 205th, Paul gaustad 220th
Eric Himelfarb (0 games), Johnny Oduya, 221st, Ryan Clowe 175th
Bobby Goepfert (0 games), Dennis Wideman 241st, Paul Ranger 183rd
Denis Stasyuk (0 games), Joe Pavelski 205th, Matt Moulson 263rd, Dustin Byfuglien 245th
Frederik Cabana (0 games) , Mark Streit 262nd, Daniel Winnick 265th
Nick Drazenovic (11 games), Patric Hornqvist 230th (last pick)
Brian Day (0 games), Viktor Stalberg 162nd, Derek Dorsett 189th
Dustin Jeffrey (110 games), Nick Bonino 173rd, Justin Braun 201st
Mitch Gaulton (0 games), Jared Spurgeon 156th, Tommy Wingels 177th, Jason Demers 186th
