Okay, thanks to Xtra 570 my pops and I along with some other people were given a chance to tour the Kings locker room at TSC. This was truly an awesome chance..however we could not do it right away.
Instead we started off by talking to Marc Crawford which was pretty damn sweet. SUper nice guy, and very friendly. Reiterated what we have stated here on the site. Power play needs major improvement and agreed that 5 for 53 is unacceptable at any level. Like the youth on the team, and said some all were progressing, but some were faster than the others (...hmm could he mean Anze). Said LA is a great hockey town, though it is not covered enough in the media (sports talk radio got burned), but he said the fans he has talked to here in LA are more knowledgeable about the game, and take it very seriously.
In Q and A time mostly soft questions were asked (I did not ask anything difficult, just about his team starting the Detroit and Avs rivalry with the Osgood v. Roy and Vernon v. Roy fights) He only talked for like 15 minutes to us since practice was getting ready to start
Walking out of Locker Room 10, I almost get run over by Frolov getting out to the ice (yes he did show hustle getting out there) and I got some pics, but they asked us to quit taking so many pictures during practice (which I understood) Saw lots of hustle and driving the net by Avery who was really crashing the net hard. Garon, I hate to say it cause I like LaBarbera, looked solid!!! Army is still wearing the jaw protector, and O'Sullivan and Kopitar were...well themselves.
From there, we were introduced to MIke Alteri and he gave us the tour. Loved the stick room, and wished I could take a few of those sticks home with me. From there we walked down the hallway, which they redecorated with team pictures, plaques of famous Kings, and award winners etc to the Kings locker room.
Pretty sweet to say the least. Redid the entire locker room with a nice flat screen TV (which had soccer on by the way), and a nice stereo system. Kept telling people that the players fined those who walked across the crown in the middle of the rug on the floor. Got some nice pics of a few lockers, and yes Avery is seated between Norstrom and Blake. I guess that is part of his double secret probation. Walked down the hall to the weight room to see McCauley and Petiot in there. I guess McCauley is a few weeks away. Was told he could play, but wants to be in the right mind set(He was working balls to the wall in the gym, and to actually be told to quit going so hard which I thought was a good sign of things to come. Overall a great experience. I will work on posting pics later.
