Thread: Luc Robitaille's amazing career comes to an end

What a sad day it is in Los Angeles. Aside from another quality player leaving the team, after being treated like crap this year, we are losing a class act who has given Los Angeles so much over the year. The only saving grace is that Luc is retiring as a King, something he had been quoted as saying numerous times.

If Luc does read this, you have to know you will be missed and the fans are pissed at the way you have been treated this year!

Now comes some real soul searching by the AEG ownership of our hometown team. It's time, time to take a look around and realize what you are doing to the team and to it's life long fans. As an 18 year season ticket holder, I have never come off a year (whether winning or losing) contemplating letting my seats go. A dismal year, with dismal results, with dismal movement on talent, with dismal treament of one of the greatest players Los Angeles has ever seen. Wake up and smell the coffee, you might be losing quite a few season ticket holders if something doesn't change!

Tomorrow will be a sad day in LA for sure. I was a Kings fan when Luc first started playing for the Kings, and I'm still a fan now that his career is coming to an end. I cried both times he left, and I cried both times he came back. Luc was the last rookie that I went nuts over until this year....what are the odds it's the same year he's retiring.
Anyhow, thanks for the memories Luc.....it just won't be the same without you.

Luc, you are a living legend of the Kings organization. I wish that your name on the cup read "Los Angeles Kings" above it. But I am satisfied none the less that you name is on it.
You are a gentleman off of the ice and a fierce competitor on it. You have skated with legends on the ice that your name became synonymous with.
You are always spectacular to the fans and I know that it is with a heavy heart that you must do this.

I will tell my children when they grow up that I got to watch Luc play and got to hear 18,118 people yell LLLLLUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCC!!!!!!!!!!! in unison.

I had the pleasure of meeting Luc on a couple of occasions. He is by far a class act. Thanks Luc, I am gonna have a hard time watching games without having him on the team. He is the King of the Kings. He will be missed.
