Like a symptom of depression, it is much easier to immediately accept "mediocrity" (or worse) because if you emotionally start at the bottom and the season doesn't work out, you don't have deal with the disappointment and you have nowhere to fall - you're already "sub-zero." Because so many of us have suffered so many years of underachievement and unhappiness, we have a natural propensity to head to the dark-side, so I can understand why there is so much negativity and lack of optimism around here.
For me though, I will never throw in the towel, at any point in the season. I believe in this team and even if we finish dead last again, nothing can ever dissuade me from growing excited about the future of our team, our growth, and that hope that one day we can bring the cup to Staples. To give up those ideas, to me anyway, is going against everything a fan should be in order to call themselves a true fan.
And thanks Carla, great post!

Good post Carla!
All the Kings men are nearly in place. Hopefully Murray and the men (team) provide good entertaining value to the fans this year. And beyond that I am sure every point in the standings will be cherished.
Cheers.

Carla, Carla, Carla. Another excellent post. I hope that we get a chance to meet this year. STH too! Would like to be able to put a face to the posts. It would seem that you have brought out all the optimists around here. I was wondering if there was any left. I think that a majority of the fans around here are very excited and optimistic about this coming year. As the seacon gets closer and closer the naysayers will come around. (including you DR. NAYSAY). No matter what happens this season point wise, I believe we are icing a more competitive and talented team, than in the recent past.
That alone translates into a better finish than last year. I believe we are the sleeper in the western conference. My prediction is a playoff spot. Special thanks to TRE WEST, KENTUCKY KING, FRAMER31, GOALIE DAD, VCRW for your positive posts.

I can't wait for this season to get started. It is going to be fun to watch the future grow together as 1 unit. These kids have been waiting for this time for all of their lives and the time is now. THEY are in charge now. It is now up to them instead of being held back by a coach who was scared to turn them loose. Regardless of where the Kings finish, the future will still be bright. And along the way this coming season they will be learning how to win. How can this not be fun to watch. And they might surprise some people along the way. Thanks Carla. GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!
