Any chance of swinging a trade for him?

The "Stanley Cup winner" argument is so horrible.
I agree to a certain extent. However, Scuderi was a HUGE part of the Penguins winning.

your knowledge of players in the league seems to be lacking when they're not on the wings. are you just bitter that your team got beat this year? scuderi is a more valuable defenseman at this point than jack is. plain and simple. jack will probably be better (probably much better) but as of now he's done NOTHING

Not a GM in the league would rather have Scuderi.

And save the: "What, have you asked them yourself?" defense.

    It is common sense.

that is only because of his potential. Potential + 5 bucks will get you a coffee at Starbucks.

But he will make a difference.

Because it is so hard to find a stay at home defenseman with no real ability. A real commodity, there.
Ain't seen nothin' much from your boy yet, either. Except ill-advised pinch-ins, turnovers, stupid penalties and running out of position to make hits.

Nice post. I must agree that I too am trying not to get my hopes too high about Smyth. I like Quick as well. I happened to be in Buffalo for the 5-0 debacle that started Quick's career and ended LaBarbera's. You could see even in his first game the team felt much more confident in front of him. That said, is Ersberg in a contract that will allow him to play for the Monarchs if Bernier outplays him?

Regarding Frolov, do you have any idea if he generally wants to keep playing in L.A? Living here in Germany I don't hear too much about it.

As you mentioned Hipcheck,I also feel your optimism and yet as being long time Kings fan,the pain of another down season.Hopefully with all deals DL has made this will be the year that turns the corner towards a perennial Stanley Cup Contender. What else can be said but...is August the longest and slowest month of the year and can September come already? Only 6 weeks away from frozen Fury.

The only thing I can say about Frolov in a Red Wings uniform....

I can't think of a better trading partner. A model organization that develops their players better than anyone else, and also right up against the cap!

But I hope we keep our player this time, just this once.
