    Yay barely managed >50%. LOL.

Directing and Orignal screenplay going to TKS was a travesty, but typical for the bizarro voting scheme they follow.

^Agree. As good as The King's Speech was, it absolutely should NOT have won those two awards. It's an example of Hollywood going with the safe pick. "It's a movie with British actors about the monarchy. It must be good". And as good as Firth was, he shouldn't have been such an obvious choice. He wasn't Heath Ledger good.

And how f'ing boring were the hosts? Bring Billy Crystal or someone with actual hosting talent back for Christ's sake. One awkward moment after another.

Roeper: Oscar forgot to put in his teeth - Chicago Sun-Times

Tom Hooper’s win for best director only confirmed that the academy continues to reward mainstream and safe. If “The King’s Speech” is a more impressively directed film than “The Social Network” or “Inception” (not that Christopher Nolan was even nominated), then “Ordinary People” and “Dances With Wolves” were better directed films than “Raging Bull” and “GoodFellas.”

    Oh, wait.

Years from now, when film lovers look back on 2010, the films that will resonate the most: “Inception” and “The Social Network.”

Followed by “The King’s Speech” in a distant third.

Gotta agree. I liked The King's Speech a lot, but best director should have been Fincher and Original Screenplay should have been Inception.

I have no problem with Firth winning Best Actor, although I was kinda hoping Javier Bardem would win it. Not a big deal.

Was REALLY hoping Zimmer would win Best original score, but I'm alright with Reznor and Ross winning it, I guess.

Very happy to see Inception pick up the technical awards.

the sad thing is, i honestly think Daft Punk should have won the score Oscar going away.

...and I have a hard time reconciling the fact that half the music was from the NIN Ghosts EP. Wasn't quite "original". It would be like Forrest Gump winning for it in my mind. That soundtrack was great too. . .

Yeah, that's something that bothers me. A couple of years ago, Jonny Greenwood's score for There Will Be Blood was disqualified because some of it had been used elsewhere. I wonder why that didn't apply to this one?

Do you know if the music had been re-worked at all?
