My vote goes to The King's Speech to win best picture, far and away my favorite film of the year.

Inception should have gotten best director and editing nominations. I really liked The Fighter but how did O'Russell get a nod over Nolan. I'm assuming part of it is that Nolan already got two other nominations so they didn't want to give him a third. But still, what is this? Politics or a show rewarding good movies and the people who make them? Has anyone ever gotten 3 nominations in the same year before?
On a side note, I don't understand how you can compare The King's Speech in the writing category to other movies which were completely original ideas.
I've seen half the best pics, and want to try to see the 2 still in theatres (TG and TKS) and I bought Winter's Bone yesterday to watch soon.
No score nom for Tron is a travesty. Did it fall into the 'not-a-score' camp or something?
For the effects, what happened with that link that was posted about 2 weeks back? IM2, HP7 made it, as did Hereaffter? Something got shafted (Tron? Scott pilgrim?).

I haven't watched much of it for the past few years. I have no interest in movies like Suckdog Millionare and the Hurt Locker.
I don't know if anyone's gotten all three, but it wouldn't surprise me. I haven't seen The Fighter, so it's hard for me to criticize it, but I think it's unfortunate that Nolan didn't get a Directing nom. I thought he should have been nominated for The Dark Knight, too, but... I guess not everyone in the Academy feels as strongly about him as you and I do.
Wasn't The Fighter also based on a true story?
Nope. They just left it off.
Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed that Scott Pilgrim didn't get an effects nod or a nod in any of the technical categories. Not surprised, mind you, just disappointed.
The Hurt Locker is an excellent film and deserved all the accolades it got.
I'm pretty sure Woody Allen has been nominated multiple times in the same year. And I know someone recently had 3 nominations in the same year, within the last 10 years, but I can't recall who. Francis Ford Coppola received 5 nominations in 1975, 3 for the Godfather Part II in writing, directing, and producing, and 2 for the Conversation for producing and writing, and he won all of the Godfather categories. I agree Nolan should have been nominated for directing. One of these years he'll get his due.
Heads up, people. Winter's Bone is re-opening at a few Laemmle theaters this week.
Winter’s Bone at Laemmle Theatres
Not sure for how long at any of the theaters, but... I ain't gonna miss it this time!
It's been on dvd for months...I know...movie theater, whatever.
THE KING’S SPEECH Could Be Recut to Get a PG-13 Rating
Really? Is the f word(I assume that's why it got the R rating) that big of a deal anymore? This is truly sad that a film about speech/language is too salty for American audiences.
