CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON Sequel Being Prepped for May Start | Collider

Wow. Not exactly timely. Ronnie Yu huh? Ok...think he made some decent movies over here(The Chuckie flick/Formula 51) but has he made anything lately? What say you Adgy?

Hrm. I'm not opposed to the idea of a sequel. It was originally a whole big series of books and, I think, the movie started in the middle of them. The third book? So, I'm down with more of the story. I'm also ok with Ronny Yu. He's done some not impressive stuff in the US, like Freddy Vs Jason, but he also did Fearless with Jet Li and that was pretty good. Not too far away from CTHD tonally and fight choreography-wise. So I think he's a decent choice.

Having said that, according to the link I read

he project has a script from John Fusco ("The Forbidden Kingdom," "Hidalgo")
Yeah, that doesn't fill me with optimism. But we'll see. Be interesting to see who gets cast.

I liked Bride of Chucky and The Bride with White Hair, so if they make this Crouching Bride or something, I will watch it.

Review: Jet Li's 'The Sorcerer & The White Snake' Is Wuxia-Lite, With Bad Action & CG | The Playlist

Perhaps hardcore Jet Li fans will be able to get some joy out of it, but we'd suspect that even they will struggle with this one. [D]
I DVR'd a preview of this on HDNet Movies, but maybe I'll just delete it...

Berlin Review: Wong Kar Wai's 'The Grandmaster' Is Occasionally Mesmerizing, Mostly Muddled | The Playlist

All of Zhang Ziyi’s considerable powers can’t compensate for our lack of emotional investment in Ip Man himself, and all of Wong's undeniable visual flair can't conceal the haphazard nature of the story. Perhaps most damningly, though, if we consider how the mellifluous chords of “In the Mood for Love” (for example), resonated with us for maybe weeks afterward, in the few short hours that we’ve lived with “The Grandmaster,” we’ve already begun to forget it.
