belgian comic strip/book. one of the most popular western european comics... i can't speak for others, but my husband was exposed to it via his early childhood in holland and having european parents. he picked up a liking for tintin, fries with mayonnaise and appelstroop on toast as a result of that. i, on the other hand, have a more singly french background and like astérix (another euro comic) better.

I knew who TinTin is, but I've never read a TinTin book in my life.

All the names on the poster (and on IMDB), though, give me solid wood.

My two favourite things to read as a kid growing up were Tintin and Asterix, I hope they do this justice.

Can honestly say, was on the fence. The footage was spectacular and the depth of the story was very clear in the clips. The fact that this is animated is irrelevant. Actually the mo-cap works so well because the faces were done in the stylized art of the comics so you don't have to deal with Polar Express dead skin mask faces. Very optimistic.
