I don't remember reading any stories about mass suicides after screenings of Wong Kar Wai movies. Maybe it's just not your thing? Maybe other people have different opinions and thoughts about Wong Kar Wai's movies? And what does your feelings about it being slow have to do with what we're talking about? I was using WKW as an example because it's easy. I could do it with Christopher Nolan. Or Stanley Kubrick. Or any director I'm familiar enough with that has their own style.

Yes, JD, opposites do attract because sometimes I have no ****ing clue why I am marrying someone who would praise movies with poor female characters and idiot, ******* men.
As long as it fits the story and the story itself is worthwhile, I'm not concerned.
Now, I understand that the portrayal of women in media is something important to you, and that's fine, but even you are willing to make exceptions on occasion.
What does that have to do with anything? Did I ever indicate that I expected more from Dragonball than what I got? No. I knew exactly what I was spending my money on when I spent it. And I'm fine with that. So, no, you don't go see movies just because of the composer, but that doesn't have any bearing on the conversation. I have seen you buy soundtrack CDs from composers you like even though you haven't heard the score. Isn't that placing a certain amount of faith in the name on the CD? Are you going to tell me you've never been disappointed in the slightest when making a "blind" purchase on a soundtrack CD? At least I get to read reviews of the movies I see before I see them so I'm not going in completely blind.
Yes my favorite composers have slip ups, but do you go out and see my buy The Kingdom JUST because Danny Elfman did it. Have I ever said to you "I want to watch that Tarantino movie that stars Brad Pitt (hypothetical movie) because Hans Zimmer is doing the score!!!"??? **** no. You will watch ****ty movies just because CYF is in it! YOU SPENT MONEY ON ****ING DRAGONBALL!!! Whereas I, who actually value the money that I earn, do not throw it away just over one person.
That's entirely subjective.
It's not a matter of optimism, it's more like being realistic and smart with my money.
That still has nothing to do with what we were talking about.
As I will reiterate again, Adgy will buy a piece of poop rolled in glitter if he knew that it was Maggie Cheung's and then later will be disgusted because it's poop. But then he'd still go back and admire it.
Btw, you're not welcome. Ass.
