That's true for some of his films for me, like The Piano Teacher and Code Unknown. But I find most of his films to be powerful and riveting, especially The White Ribbon which absolutely shook me to the core. Kind of surprised I'm in the minority here.

He does Family Guy (which isn't funny) among other things (which aren't funny).

He reminds me of this guy I used to work with who would always laugh immediately after things he said that were meant to be funny.

I don't know Bogey, that's awfully dismissive. Family Guy may not be to your tastes, but that don't make it 'not funny'. And Ted? American Dad? Cleveland? The guy is a cottage industry at this point, he must be doing something right.

Some background on the brewing VFX feud that got national recognition when one of the VFX artists from Life of Pi got 'Jawsed' off under the guise of time concerns but more likely censorship as he was about to address the issue.

We are at a tipping point in our industry – no matter where you live or work. It has become painfully obvious that while profits abound for producers and distributors, our budgets are being squeezed to the point of jeopardizing our jobs and the quest for a reasonable life style for VFX artists. This was evidenced by the Protest yesterday at

the Oscars. There is just a lot of anger and frustration out there and it has taken tangible form at this time.

Add to this heated time what occurred on the Oscar broadcast when LIFE OF PI wins the award and the team is effectively censored from making any statement about our plight. Not to mention the further insult of the Jaws theme being used.

During the Oscar-cast I received a call from Variety (they amended the article to add my comments). I WAS ANGRY and OUTRAGED. I am still angry and outraged.

And Two and a Half men pre and post Sheen, who am I to say that those shows blow? I mean, personally...yeah, I have no use for them. But I am in the minority. Different tastes.
