So what is the verdict on an Academy Award 2013 (or empty year) thread? For the first time in awhile I have seen a few of the pictures nominated and would love to talk them ...

We saw Les Miserables, which was just a really well made movie with some tremendous acting. I am not really into musicals but I enjoyed it.
I also saw Lincoln, which was just as good. Daniel Day Lewis is the single greatest living actor today. I so believed he was Lincoln. If he doesn't win best actor I would be very surprised. Sally Field and David Straihairn (spelling?) we're wonderful.

Life of Pi needs to be recognized...won't win, maybe some technical awards. Django, probably QT's weakest to date, still...ought to get a few nods. Still, I think Lincoln wins best actor/best supporting actor...other than that, academy picks a movie to win most...maybe the Bin Laden flick...
They are going to push the hell out of ZDT and Lincoln. We've been doing a ****TON of work for those.
I didn't see Lincoln, but if Daniel Day Lewis doesn't win, I will **** my pants in shock.
I'd still like to see Hawkes take it. Just don't think a lot of people saw the Surrogate. Anyone here see it? It never got much of a release.Quote:
