I'd give the best supporting actor to Waltz

Seth MacFarlane was a total screw-up as oscar host, all his jokes were terrible and that whole broadcast was painful to watch. Never heard of the guy before, wish I'd never heard of him after.

That said, it's a Clooney production, and as we know, in today's Hollywood politics trumps talent, so Argo's probably your winner.
    Nailed it.

I love his approach to filmmaking, one of my favorite directors. I'll give my input on Amour when I see it.
I don't know, I just never seem to be able to connect with Haneke's films emotionally for whatever reason.

Not much in the way of surprises, really.

I thought Seth MacFarlane was fine and some of his jokes were funny, especially in the beginning when he was actually talking **** about people. He can sing, too, so he was a good host to have for a show doing a tribute to music and musicals.

I really liked a lot of the stage design, too.

Shirley Bassey can still belt it out. Wow.

I watched it on the DVR, as BoobyTrap and I were watching Argo while the show was actually playing out, so I skipped most of the speeches.

That's all I got to say.
