Tom Hardy Says MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Starts Filming April 2012
George Miller’s Mad Max follow-up Fury Road has had a bit of a storied history. The film was originally set to start production in August 2010 with stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, but after massive sets had been built and intense pre-production work was underway, torrential rains flooded the Australian desert that was set to be the film’s backdrop for the duration of the shoot.
Flash forward to this past March, when Miller gave an update on the project saying that they would restart pre-production later this year and commence filming early next year, with the film fully funded and ready to go. Now we have a solid start date, as Hardy revealed to Steve at today’s Warrior press day that the film will begin production next April. He said:
“we’re going to have to find somewhere else to shoot it, but it looks like it’s going in April.”

Ben Affleck To Direct and Star In
No one can keep a good actor turned director downed.
According to THR, as the director readies his next film, Argo, Ben Affleck has found yet another project to jump aboard (alongside films like The Trade and Tell No One). The outlet reports that Affleck will direct and star in a new film, Line Of Sight.
Line Of Sight will follow “an elite commando squad transporting cargo while dealing with a global threat.”
Zoe Saldana Says ‘Colombiana 2’ Could Happen If You Go See The Movie This Weekend > The Playlist
I doubt I'll get to see it this weekend, but I do plan to see it.“We were in Cannes doing press earlier this year, and I go to meet them for dinner and [director] Olivier [Megaton] and Luc [Besson] are like in a corner [talking to one another],” Saldana remembered. “I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ And they were like, ‘If the movie does well, what about a sequel?’ And I was like, ‘Hell yes!’ So of course I would love to do it – if it’s well-received, of course.”
BLATANT VIOLENCE HIGH: Eisener Making A Film About Hobo With A Shotgun’s Alma Mater | CHUD.com
Blatant Violence High
This comes from HeyUGuys.UK who caught Karim Hussain (Hobo‘s cinematographer) talking about the next project, and dropping the aforementioned title. This joins tiny bits of info that Eisener himself has let slip about a school for hyper-violent students…
That’s our plan for our next feature. I guess a martial arts exploitation style movie. All I can say about it is, when all the worst students are kicked out of their schools they’re all brought to this one school that has the worst students in the world. And some pretty crazy **** goes down. It’s kind of like the world of Hobo with a Shotgun but in a high school.
He confirms that it will exist in the Hobo With A Shotgun universe (surely Rutger will have some kind of memorial mural somewhere in the school?). I think these are easy concepts to get excited about.
