Because it has Clarence Williams III, Danny Trejo, and Donal Logue(James Frain too/FRANKLIN ALERT!!!!!). Ben Affleck is horribly unloved as an actor(he isn't that bad) and in general this movie has a nice old school feel to it, probably thanks to Frankenheimer. It ain't rocket science but it reminds me of all the Canon action flicks we used to have on loop at the video store I worked at as a kid. As one of the most successful Malay films action, it is perhaps no surprise that KL Gangster is set for another instalment; however, it comes as a surprise that the local gangster movie will “most likely” feature the "Ong Bak" star, Tony Jaa. Datuk Yusof Haslam, producer of "KL Gangster" has recently announced that the next instalment will be a prequel, and will mark the return of the original cast such as Aaron Aziz, Adi Putra, Shoffi Jikan, Sheera Iskandar and Zizan.
KLG told the story of two brothers who got involved in the seedy world of gangsters. Malek, who learnt his lesson after being betrayed by his own gang started by Shark, soon found himself forced to return to the underworld that he left behind.
Like we say - we’ll believe it when we see the official announcement from the man himself...but this would make a great...late xmas present, for all us Jaa fans!
