Review: 'The Last Stand' Heralds The Return Of Arnold Schwarzenegger In A Big, Brash & Ultimately Overlong Slog | The Playlist

This is the kind of action film you've seen before done better, and while the technological aspects may be more polished than most, the theatrical experience still feels considerably small-screen. As a comeback vehicle, it's got just enough gumption to make it across the finish line but it certainly doesn't come roaring out of the gate. With a less iconic actor, this would be a toned-down VOD entry, but with Arnie earning top billing, well, expectations come with that, and "The Last Stand" delivers -- up to a point. Keep those expectations reasonable and try not to be disappointed. [C+]

Probably going to see this on Sunday.

I've only seen A Tale of Two Sisters, and I liked it. The Good, The Bad and The Weird definitely on my list of things to see. I need to see more of these.

I didn't expect The Last Stand to break box office records, but I also didn't expect it to bomb so hard. Lol! This movie got what California got at the hand of Arnold.

SNITCH Trailer Starring Dwayne Johnson | Collider

Dwayne Johnson is one of a handful of action stars who are trying to re-energize the genre and it looks as if his new film Snitch could be a much-needed shot in the arm. From director Ric Roman Waugh (Felon), Johnson stars as a father who volunteers to go undercover for the DEA in order to clear his son’s name and get him out of a ten-year prison sentence. This cut is much tighter than the first trailer and delivers the plot conceit quickly before getting to the bread-and-butter action scenes. Also starring Susan Sarandon, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jon Bernthal, Benjamin Bratt and Barry Pepper, Snitch opens February 22nd. Hit the jump to watch the new trailer.
Action superstar Dwayne Johnson headlines this fast-paced thriller as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a crime and is sentenced to 10 years in jail. In order to clear his son’s name, he dangerously goes undercover and risks everything, including his own life, to reduce his son’s sentence.
Good trailer...nice cast...oh man, buzzkill. PG-13. I will say I don't think ANYONE is better in action flicks right now than The Rock. Guy is a good actor for a wrestler and always comes off very relatable. Would have liked an R on this though.
