    SPOILERS

Santi, it was perfectly played out. The killer played her like a violin on that car ride...man they have had two of the most insanely tense scenes in cars this season. He lulled/hypnotized her and by showing her what he really was while reminding her that she loved him...well, he broke her. Not at all out of character because she has shown that she has that gene. It was tremendously done and I think Koteas should be EMMY nominated for his turn in that car. Chilling in it's abject sociopathy. Kudos to the casting director for getting him and Saarsgard, two actors who always do a damned fine job yet never get big mentions. That oughtta change. Nice use of Holder's other partner as a red herring. And, lets be honest, I think most of us sussed out what was going to happen, at least partially, but that rollout scene where Linden had the realization...man, you felt that gutpunch in it's entirety. Just stunning. If AMC doesn't renew they are a bunch of 'Fat Hitler's. Man, what a great season.

If they do move forward I will miss the light hearted relationship L/H started to share. No way they can go back to that because lies will have to be told(resentment anyone) and Linden is probably never going to be the same. Please do the right thing AMC.

Well, allow me to retort. The first issue I had was the big reveal - I just thought it was cheap. He gave his daughter the ring - huh? He was damn careful to not get caught, ties up loose ends, burns the car and pulls out the girl's teeth for crying out loud, and then he goes and gives the ring to his daughter despite the fact that there are large photos of the damn ring all over the conference room. WTF?? And then Linden happens to go to his house, happens to see his daughter, who happens to be wearing the ring at the time. This is how Linden solves it? Really? After all that? I mean the entire investigation was all but pointless, all she needed was that coincidence at the end to solve the crime. To me it was not a gut-shot moment, it was a "are you ****ing kidding me?!" moment.

And I really don't get Linden shooting him. Yes, he broke her, and she has issues, but sudden violence when stressed has never been one of them. It just came out of the blue as far as I am concerned. To me, the whole episode just felt like they were trying to wrap things up quickly, in a neat little bow, without really staying true to the entire preceding season.

Fair enough Santi, but if you have any complaints about the ending you have to blame the critics in part. The backlash and hatred directed at this show after the initial season ALMOST got it cancelled. I think the critics were very unprofessional, shoveling dirt on season 2 and seemingly trying to bury it without ever even watching. So I imagine the third season was provided with the caveat that there be a clear and unquestionable wrap up to the season. For what it was I found it better than expected. Yes, the coincidence factor was overwhelming but there have always been complaints in regards to this show as far as that goes. I guess it's a case of opinion. If you are marginally to substantially unhappy with the finale I hope you can temper that with the terrific rest of the season.

I think that's the biggest problem I have - the rest of the season, and especially the next-to-last episode were so freaking good, I felt let down by the season finale. Oh well, Breaking Bad next week! HoW is coming back soon as well, so AMC will be keeping me entertained.

Season finale review: The Killing: Whats in the trunk this time?

Seppinwall has been the exception among the critics. He may have issues with the show, but he retains his objectivity.

This guy was the big winner at sdcc...there were the panels moderated by him, and those that weren't. He gets better every year.

Remember...now on SATURDAY nights...good lord as if this show wasn't facing an uphill battle already. Watch it folks, it is really good. I suppose you could get caught up by watching that 5 minute s2 recap, since they seem to going in an entirely new direction with the show...but watch it...you just may like it.

And to think that so long ago he hosted a cheesy dating game show on MTV with Jenny McCarthy.
