I found the abrupt, cut to black death of Tony Soprano to be a much more fitting ending for such a despicable character.
I can't fault this opinion since each person's idea of what Walt deserved is purely subjective. He certainly went much more peacefully than most or all of his adversaries that he either killed personally or had killed, and I can see where the sum of his criminally monstrous actions could've or even should've earned him a brutal and undignified death. But, even dying of a gunshot wound, Walt "won". I guess the writers wanted to show that indefensible actions aside he really WAS the best, the smartest, and the baddest.

It would be cool though if they published some of the pitched but rejected ideas for Walt's demise. Guessing some were not so pretty. heh.

WHOA here's one: how about in the final shot, instead of the camera ascending to the rafters like Walt's spirit is rising (to Heaven?), it DESCENDS, looking UP through the floor at his body from underneath. THAT would've been ****ing AWESOME.

Those cops were pretty inept, if they really thought it was a call from Walter White.
One of 'em couldn't even be bothered to get out of the squad car to check inside the white Volvo Walt eventually stole.
After that, Walt had the time and freedom to drive 8 miles up the mountain to the cabin, empty the $10M from the barrel, load it into the Volvo, then drive the 8 miles down the mountain without getting caught.
Can't really assume they searched 8 miles up a mountain if they couldn't be troubled for the other thing.

Better call Sa... wait. Never mind.
The FBI had Jesse in that interrogation room in regards to the $5M he was throwing out his car window.

I don't know if he was charged with anything, but I think they still wonder how Jesse got that $5M.

i agree with you on the car, but i meant they would EVENTUALLY (ie. in the aftermath of the events) find it so he was allowed time to get his money and stuff the day that he ran. it was very snowy so i'm sure that affected the ability to navigate and locate the terrain leading up to the cabin. however, now that i think about it, maybe they wouldn't have found it once they got notice that he had returned to new mexico and there was no longer a reason to search NH. who knows. i'd assume walt would just play it safe and not send him to a potential hot spot.

does anyone remember just how much time had passed between walt going in hiding/jesse being held captive by the nazis and the finale? i lost track of that.

Ed made at least two supply runs to Walt so it was at least three months.

That theory doesn't quite hold up either. Walt stole the Volvo from the parking lot of the bar where he called the DEA in NH. Marie tells Skylar that the car was spotted at the Dennys in ABQ alerting the police that he was back in town. That was then confirmed when Carol, his old neighbor, called the police after seeing him in front of his old house.

Jesse's finger prints are all over that meth lab. He's been arrested before, so most likely his prints are in some database. I'd say he's definitely on the run.
I guess it depends on how much stock they put in Marie's words. No doubt he'd be wanted for questioning, though. At the very least.

Also, Todd's ringtone was pretty great.

there was no proof he was in NH all those months, and everyone but the Nazis was completely in the dark about their underground meth lab so Walt disappearing down there while making a trip to NH and maybe getting a little sloppy covering his tracks as the cancer progresses doesn't seem like an implausible front.

True enough. Even if they did put stock in Marie's story though, Jesse no longer has anything to trade for a deal with Walt being dead. Putting my "think like a criminal" cap on for a minute, that's time to lam it.
