What a nights work by Jeffrey DeMunn! Guy is great. And Carl is just a plain stupid kid. Sorry to see Dale go ... finally a decent episode. Looks like Darryl has become the man for the group. Agree that Talking Dead was very good tonight.

I'm a pretty sentimental guy, but had no attachment to Dale. I agreed at times with his humanitarian logic but also agreed with the others when they disagreed with him. That said, pretty nasty way to go. So looks like the gang just got a whole lot tougher and single-minded without Dale's moral speedbumps. Should be interesting.

I really liked Darryl this one too and can't wait to see what's next for him. And ya gotta believe next week is do-or-die for T-Dog eh? Either he get lines or gets whacked.

Interesting to see how Andrea reacts to Dales death, she was the only one who supported him on whether to kill the kid from Rescue Me. I was pretty happy to see Dale go, if it means we get less morals philosophizing werdz in future episodes.

And for those that like spoilers here is a leaked photo from a future episode of TWD:

I am surprised by the Dale backlash, here and in other places. If nothing else Dale represented an alternative viewpoint that, I think, without, the show is going to devolve even further into a one note alpha male standoff. De Munn is just a great actor as well, and losing him hurts the quality of the show. His exit was terrific though and Darryl as 'the executioner/torturer' clearly defined his role as the go to dirty work guy.
I have been crying for T-Dog to be zombie chow for awhile now. Once Michonne or the other major black character from the comics(whose name eludes me) come on board I am sure T-Dog will be gone.

I think the reason for the anti-Dale stuff isn't rooted in the idea that people disliked the viewpoint set forth by his character, or even disagreed with where he was coming from. I think most people disliked the execution, where his character became the primary character that espoused the "we want to hold onto our humanity" dialog. There didn't seem to be any nuance to his character's dialog and the writers also didn't do anything to promote his value to the group. Now that Dale is dead, what does that mean for the group? Beyond losing his voice and commentary, how is their day to day life any different?

I for one was very shocked to see Dale go and was pretty bummed about it. Sure I did not always agree with him and thought at times he was annoying but as JD pointed out he did usually give the alternative viewpoint and times was the voice of reason.

As for Darry, a while ago I stated to a few fellow WD fans who are friends of mine that if I had to choose one person from the group to have to try to survive with it would be him. He just does what it takes.

And on another note I will add my voice to JD's in saying that I cannot wait for the Killing to start!!

I guess I get the complaints about the lack of subtlety in Dale's constant pleas for 'humanity'. But blame the writing. I still think the group has swayed toofar into the 'do whatever it takes' territory without Dale's voice. Herschell USED to share that view, but I think he is in a state where he does not know what to believe. I guess we will see. I still think...

Shane may be sacrificed to balance the scales a bit...and if that is the case, what a wasted opportunity. Rick turning away from him while he was trapped on that bus would have been a heavy moment. But clearly, the one thing to be taken away here...this is not the comic. Different rules. I'm ok with that. The Governor in season 3 will really decide where this show is going to go.

What this show needs.... Is more Frank Darabont. He was the rug that tied the room together. He seemed to know how much Dale humanity to add to the group. He at least gave T-Dogg a couple of lines. He brought on a great character in Merle Dixon. Dr. Jenner's secret. He had grand ideas that would have provided a greater understanding to the TWD universe around the characters. I really like TWD comics, I think they laid out a great story there. I think they have done a terrible job this season with how certain characters have been used, and which new characters were added to the show. I'll watch Season 3, but they are really going to need to improve upon things from the production side if they want to fix the story.

Walking Dead producer teases season two's 'shocking cliffhanger' | Blastr

With the second season of AMC's hit zombie drama Walking Dead storming toward its conclusion, producer Gale Anne Hurd teases that the finale could top last year's cliffhanger.

Talking to E! Online, Hurd said the season is building toward as "shocking cliffhanger." So shocking, she says, you won't even be able to tweet about it.

"When we mixed the last couple of episodes, 2.12 and 2.13, even my jaw dropped—and I was there when we shot it," she said. "I have a feeling, even though people are inveterate tweeters during episodes, I have a feeling there may be some significant periods of silence because people may not be able to click on their keyboards."

Hurd said the storylines ramping up around the group's last kiddo, Rick's son Carl, will provide a fascinating lens for how much the world has changed since the walkers took over.

"The opportunity we have with Carl's character is to see what it's like with someone growing up in which this is the new normal," she said. "You can't get too attached, but you don't want to lose your humanity at the same time. As a child you don't know the difference, but as the parents you do, and that's why I think Rick is who he is and does what he does in many instances because he is always trying to think, 'What kind of example am I setting for Carl?'"
I dunno...this season has really been a lot of unfulfilled talk/promises. I find it hard to buy into the hype anymore.
