Yeah but he sounds like he is going to be a great fit on that new period piece cop drama that TBS is going to do. He is a good actor.

Pretty good episode last night. I like that they FINALLY resolve the Rick / Shane conflict. I don't understand why Carl raised the gun at Rick though. They showed Carl watching the field through some binoculars, so I'm guessing that's how he came upon Rick after he ended Shane. But why did Carl raise the gun at his dad? Were they trying to say he was butt hurt about his part time daddy, Shane, being dead? I dunno, but I pretty much hate Carl.

Dexter, roenick, adgy-san and 1 others like this.

He was probably aiming at the re-animated Shane and the audience (through Rick) is supposed to believe that he's initially aiming at Rick. One of those little film quirks like in Terminator 2 when John thinks Ahnold is aiming at him in the mall but he's actually focused on the T-1000....y'know?

Someone actually posted a rumored episode summary on another website for this one that actually proved accurate so I kinda had the ending spoiled but it was still pretty damned good.

I dunno, it may have been the chocolope, but I could have swore Carl had raised his gun pretty well before zombie Shane rose up....

Anyone still watching Comic Book Men?

I actually own something someone brought in to sell. Finally, validation.

Before he stood up definitely, but before he started stirring? Maybe not.

Though I believe the body is out of frame before he stands up so that would entirely be conjecture if that's the case.

Also, I don't think Carl has to change the direction he's aiming to hit Shane. From the camera's oblique perspective, it looks like he's aiming at Rick but he eventually shoots past him. Though that probably has more to do with inconsistency in character position relative to one another in the different shots.

Last night's epi was definitely a move in the right direction.
Is that what all that was??? I was so bored at that point I tuned out. At first keeping Shane alive seemed like a great idea. He was killed way too early in the comic...or so I thought. What a one note grind of a performance. Typical of this show though. Two major characters die in 2 weeks after a ton of nothing goes on and everyone is happy. PFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTT! Wheels will continue to spin. They will more than likely be forced off the farm in the finale with Herschell 'buying' said farm in the process. Lather Rinse Repeat. BORING. If they are going to use the gimmick of killing characters to generate false excitement on this show then they better start introducing more characters. What once was a promising show and a potential game changer has become very predictable and safe. Yes, safe. You know...they were finally on to something. The dynamic with Shane being replaced by Darryl, Shane getting his apology and Lori seeming to be conflicted again, Shane realizing and trying to help Rick be a good father...just to kill him when they could have developed his character into something other than a feral killer. What was with him tripping and smacking himself in the head???? What a load of hooey. I think AMC did Darabont a favor. Hell, all of the people that gnashed their teeth about season 1 of the Killing are probably the same people who are loving this show. Pfffffffffft I say.

By the way, I read the first Omnibus and then some of the comic, and I thought it was a good idea that was handled clumsily. Kirkman is kinda the Dean Koontz of comics(in my opinion) and kind of hacky. I was really happy after the first season and thought that this show would rise above the source material. Well congratulations...now it is WORSE.

Don't disagree with much of anything here. Maybe my liking the past epi was entirely based upon lack of action previously. The only thing I will say about Kirkman is that didn't he say he rushed his story (and agree rather clumsily) was to thinking he would be canceled at any time? I am willing to give it next week, which I agree will be the inevitable move off the farm as it will be over run by zombies, but I have been disappointed overall as well. Really do agree they seem to have resorted to the gore factor to keep viewers involved.
