Couldn't disagree more.
Enjoy the show immensely (warts and all). Love the **** out of the comic book.

When should be expecting Merle to make a real appearance? The finale or next season?

I agree with adgy. Love the show and the books.
Also, I guess I'm the only one who was annoyed with Shane going crazy every episode. I was kind of happy they finally killed him off, although I think they could have done it a lot better. Then again, I don't really watch many movies or hour long weekly tv shows (like the rest of you seem to,) so I don't take character development or other possibilities into account. That's why I like reading these threads, you guys all have great opinions and introduce me to new shows and occasionally new movies.
Yeah, neither did the writers, so you are in good company. I was annoyed with Shane's uncharacteristic slide into whackadoo county too. There was no subtlety. Funny, when they finally gave his character shades of grey(Lori's apology/his realization that Rick wasn't being a good parent) they KILL him.
And I have to figure Merle is going to take a back seat to the Governor next season. It would be wise for them to hold a card or two. But the way they are killing characters wholesale just to generate what folks are mistaking for drama, they will probably burn through the better parts of the story in no time. Looking forward to this weeks death toll on the finale' cause that makes good tv. Hooray.
Was nice to see that CHUCK was on Talking Dead.
