Maniacal Laugh, Maniacal Laugh, Maniacal Laugh
Nice use of this song in last weeks episode.
I was waiting to see what the reveal would be for the last minutes of the show. I knew it couldn't end all nice and happy. Man, what a reveal... Hank's face was perfect. Some nuggets I loved in this episode: Walter sitting across from the lady (her name escapes me) and deciding whether or not to kill her, Walt and Hank talking about simpler times then crossfading into a shot of Walt with the chem-suit, the pile of money obviously, Walt's visit to Jesse where you weren't quite sure if he was gonna kill him after their good old days talk... Even Jesse grabbed a gun once he saw who was knocking on the door ("I am the one who knocks!"). In a way, giving that kind of money to a drug addict might have been Walt's way of killing him off... but that doesn't fit with the way the episode ended for Walt so I don't think so.
There were some nice callbacks throughout the episode... The fly right in the beginning started it off. I had completely forgotten that book though so the reveal was very satisfying. Here are some more (spoilers obviously):

And really, it's gonna be next summer? **** me.
Wow, just wow.
Perfect cliff hanger. Just when I'm thinking Walter can't be out, what are they gonna do for 8 more episodes.
Loved this episode, it may be their best one ever. The use of music and mise-en-scène in the montages was perfect, I felt like I was watching a movie.
Yes the little things like the risen as well, just a hint of the past. True lovers of this show that know all these little details must have been out of their minds last night. I don't know how they are gonna top it with 8 more but I trust they will. Let's hope it's in January and not next summer. There were some nice callbacks throughout the episode... Yeah, sorry guys. I had heard on Geektime on sirius 101 that it was coming back in January. That was not right apparently. It was a satisfying conclusion. Very Godfather-esque w/the killings. The scene with Jesse was terribly sad and uncomfortable. You knew Jesse wasn't sure if he was there to kill him or not, the sly look on walters face when Jesse sheepishly hid the bong(Walt's 'See I told you' look was priceless), The rycin in the hat after saying 'you think I would just get the list and kill you in front of everyone'...lots of good moments. And Marie, finally saying 'look, take your kids already', long overdue. There's something terribly appropriate to Hank having his 'a-ha' moment while dealing a deuce(in another persons house...ewwwww).
Too long of a wait.
By the way, watched all 4 eps of Hell on Wheels last night. Such a good show. Was worried that they wouldn't be able to reel things back to the rairoad, but they did, and they did it real well. Like the passage of time and the changes. Bohannon is just a badass. Hey, if they wanna remake Escape from New York still...there is your guy. Common is a decent actor too. Somehow this show looks a lot 'bigger' than it did first season. Good use of their budget. Watch season 1 on netflix...you might dig it.
