No More Loud TV Commercials: CALM Law Takes Effect - Deadline.com

THANK CHRIST...oh sorry, I was shouting over a commercial. No network is MORE guilty than AMC. So many times I had to turn the volume up to max on Breaking Bad, and as soon as the commercials started...speaker flare. **** you commercials!

Wait, there's an actual law to prevent television networks from annoying the crap out of us? Can they pass another one to ban networks from having shows end at 9:59 or 10:01 to make it so people with DVRs can only record the same network in the preceding or following timeslot?

Yeah, probably not. I do not want to ruin season 3 by reliving the really disappointing second season. And if I want to rewatch s1 I will netflix. I'm not sold on the retro b&w. It has a weird tinge and it doesn't look like old tv, it just looks absent of color.

Did you dig Darabont's The Mist with the B&W? I thought you did? Maybe I'm misremembering.

AMC Gives Series Order to LOW WINTER SUN | Collider

Hot on the heels of the news that AMC is resurrecting the previously-cancelled series The Killing for a third season comes word that the network has made a commitment to a new series for the upcoming season. Per THR, AMC has ordered 10 hourlong episodes of the drama Low Winter Sun. Based on the 2006 British miniseries of the same name, the series is described as “a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge, and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred.” Mark Strong, who also starred in the British miniseries, fronts the AMC show alongside Lennie James. The show will be run by executive producer Chris Mundy.
Mark Strong & Lennie James...sign me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TV Bits: American Horror Story, 30 Rock, Californication, The Killing, Hannibal, Doctor Who, Masters of Sex | /Film

Billy Campbell played an important part in the first two seasons of The Killing and probably thought he job was done once that show was cancelled. It has, of course, been resurrected though and Variety reports the actor will not be returning for the third season.
That's a real shame. He was very good on the first 2 seasons and I really thought he had a lot of story left in him.

Q&A - Anson Mount (Cullen Bohannon) - Hell on Wheels - AMC

Q: Hell on Wheels was picked up for a third season and got a new executive producer, John Wirth. Congrats! What's been your reaction?

A: I'm very excited about it. From what I understand, he's a hell of a leader and a hell of guy. We were emailing yesterday about our favorite bands, and I was like, "Oh, okay, we're going to like each other."

Q: What excites you the most about returning to the show?

A: First of all, I just love this job. It's my favorite job that I've had as a professional actor. I love getting paid to ride a horse. I love the amount of input that I get to have. And I'm excited to see, after the utter devastation at the end of Season 2, I'm interested to see where we start Cullen Bohannon. Everybody keeps asking me, "What's going to happen?" And I honestly don't know! [Laughs]
I honestly rank this show among my top 5 faves...somewhere amongst SOA/Breaking Bad/etc. And I will continue to profess my love for it till you nice folks start watching. Start w/Season 1 on Netflix. Telling you...you will dig it.
