I have yet to watch any of the TV series stuff, but I hear it's great. I really like both of the movies, or did when I last saw them.

The TV series is equally amazing. Get it. Watch it.

Or get me a way to get digital files to you and I'll rip it to a digital file for you. It'll take a while.

There's a $5 DVD full of a story arc from the Stand Alone Complex called The Laughing Man.
Amazon.com: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - The Laughing Man: Artist Not Provided: Movies & TV

Grab that if you want a taste.

    Har har.

As long as you know the backstory and characters fairly well (or are willing to do a bit of wikipedia reading), The Laughing Man story arc does stand up well by itself.

The Wacky World of Tex Avery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wacky World of Tex Avery is a French, American, and Canadian cartoon television show produced by DiC Entertainment and created by Brody Dowler in 1997[1] and 1998. The series was named after Tex Avery, a cartoonist who is most famous for his work at Warner Bros. and MGM. The creator Brody Dowler describes the show as "homage to the brilliant, hilarious and groundbreaking animator Tex Avery and the wonderful squash-and-stretch cartoons of his era". The series was an attempt to capture the true aspect of the genius of Tex Avery and his classic characters such as Droopy, George & Junior & Screwball Squirrel.[2]
Just got this today. 14 hours + of stuff. Billy West does some of the voices. Will let you know if it is worth having.

EDIT:Despite Billy West and all the hallmark bells & (slide)whistles of Avery's bag o'tricks its a pale imitation. Pass.
