Thanks JWR. That and other classics like No Neck Joe, Frog Baseball, etc. bring me back to my youth and many a Nuart/Old Santa Monica theater Animation Festivals...good times man, good times. To everyone, if you are a fan of animation, you owe it to yourself to look into the Spike and Mike dvds that are out there. The basic program has hits and misses but you are guaranteed to find something you will like.

What's Don Hertzfeld doing nowadays, anyway?

There was a heyday of diy/CalArts animation during the '80's. It was helped by Spike and Mike, and sadly, one of them passing...and the reliance on computer animation, and the internet(YouTube, etc) has pretty much killed the great travelling festival showcases that used to happen. Sad times indeed. Hertzfeld probably got a real job. Art is dead.

    Bill Plympton.

Spike & Mike still do a festival, but they've dropped the "Sick & Twisted" and moved to a family-friendly format.
Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Bullets are cheap. Life is priceless.

Plymptoons rock. We see him every year @ Comicon. Not sure if it's Spike or Mike but one of them died, although the name lives on. They didn't always do the Sick & Twisted, they had multiple programs. I just think S&T was the one that blew up.
