This year's Record Store day (4/20) will go down in electronic music history, as Boards of Canada released a series of 6 vinyls that when put together may reveal a new track, or some type of Easter egg hinting a new album!
Does Boards of Canada's record-store clue point to new album?
BoC is one of, if not my favorite electronic groups of all time, and I've thought they were done for years. Looks like they're pulling a Portishead on us!!!Enclosed in a simple card sleeve, the vinyl carries just 20 seconds of music: ambient electronica, with a distorted voice reciting the numbers "nine, three, six, five, five, seven". It's a beautiful, eerie sound, reminiscent of the Conet Project. Pitchfork reports that Boards of Canada's label, Warp, has vouched for the record's authenticity.
Adding even more fuel to the fire, an alleged friend-of-a-friend of the band recently claimed Boards of Canada's new album is due in June. https://mobile.twitter.com/isphotogr...42101737832448
