I have to say, I liked You're the Worst a lot better than Married. Both of them are pretty icky though. Maybe I am maturing, but the horribly bleak outlook thing really takes a lot out of me these days.
Had a Wilfred:Final Season marathon the other day. I am SOOOOOOOOO gonna miss this show. So wonderfully odd. Just terrific. I really hope they stick the landing because the weird meta-mythology they have jumped feet first into has been a lot of fun so far.

    Some thoughts:

Fargo - Holy cow, what a finale. What a show. Forgot to ask earlier, but am i reading too much into it or were there a handful of small, subtle references to other Coen Bros films throughout the show? Specifically, one of the Bemidji deputies being named Knutsen (The Big Lebowski), the case that Oliver Platt found the money in being the same as the one Josh Brolin finds the money in in No Country For Old Men? There were a couple others, but I forgot what they were.

Tyrant - All caught up, and I gotta say I find the show pretty interesting. Nothing spectacular has happened yet, but for some reason I still find myself enjoying the show quite a bit. Very interested to see where it goes, and how we get to Barry turning into a bad guy. I'm assuming that's going to happen eventually since he SPOILERS!!! shot that guy in the head as a kid. But, yeah, I'm into it.

The Strain - To this point, it seems to be fairly by-the-numbers horror, but I don't think it's all that bad. Going to stick with it for a little while and see how it goes.

Not sure about the Fargo Easter Eggs...I will defer to you since I am not 1/3 the Coenfile you are.
And yeah, Tyrant...has something. It's still suffering growing pains, but I truly enjoy watching it each week. Considering the ****show that went on during it's development, that's a win.
And The Strain. Not sure why all the hate. It IS pretty much a by the numbers affair. The books were too. Within the confines of that, the book(and I assume the show) does flex a little muscle here and there and has some surprises. You all seem to want atom splitting. This isn't that. It's a familiar story told (hopefully) well, and with some nice bits o'flair along the way. I think people were expecting some sort of unique tale. This is a vamp tale with body horror(oh yeah Adgy...there should be a LOT of that in the next few episodes) that eventually morphs into a STAND-ish virus brings about the end of days thing. You know...that old chestnut.

That's really all I'm hoping for here. Some good, nasty ****.

Other than from Fargo, I mean. Obviously, there are 228,743 references to that movie in this show. I kept expecting to see something referencing Miller's Crossing, but didn't. Which is why I'm not sure if I'm maybe just reading too much into it. I mean, if you're going to reference a Coen Bros movie...

Interview: The Strain co-creator Guillermo de Toro on vicious vampires, erotic vampires and FX vampires

Yeah, sorry Naysayers, but I thought episode 2 was nicely done(love Kevin Durand...that accent is a little iffy though). If you are on the fence...stick with it. Gonna start getting 'splainey in regards to the viral vampirism and that's where the MEAT...heheh is gonna start.

now that I can tell The Strain is basically going to be humans vs. vampires in a "ooooh, which one is a vampire" fashion, and despite the "i'm a recovering alcoholic trying to keep my son in my life" being heavily cliche, I suppose the 2nd episode wasn't too bad. I fully expect to suspend disbelief in storyline structure (hell, I do this on falling skies every episode yet still somehow enjoy it) and go with it.

And can I really guesstimate that the CDC's guy girlfriend (who already is annoying) will at some point become a vampire he'll have to decide on whether to kill?

See, if I were to make a show called The Strain, it would be what goes through my twisted mind when I'm straining to take a crap.
