Noah Emmerich Set For 'The Americans' Pilot, In Negotiations For 'Blood Ties' Movie - Deadline.com

This just got better. Emmerich is a solid actor.

In other Fx news, am I the only one that was a little 'underwhelmed' by this season of Archer? I don't know if it's because my expectations are so high or whether it really was a dropback season. Archer fans, is it me or was this a kinda duff season?

Indeed. The very end...with the Arlo revelation, nicely done. SPOILERS

was scared for good ole Boyd fer a minnit. Glad they kept Limehouse around too. He's a perfect addition to the cast/story and they will be able to go into next season with some threads percolatin'. Interested to see if Detroit still factors in next season too. Hey Adge, me and Kq think they were pretty vague on whether the guy with the 'piercing blue eyes...and big baby head' was done. Sure, he was bleeding out pretty good after being 'disarmed', what was your take? Another great season, and damnit...now I gotta wait soooooo long for the next. Crap.

Couldn't agree more. Was really happy there wasn't some sort of cliffhanger, too. The revelation at the end... damn, I should have watched it again before I deleted it from the DVR. Puts his apology earlier in the episode in a bit of a different light.

I didn't even think anything other than him being dead until just now. You're right, it was definitely vague, but I don't know what else they could use the character for at this point. Hmm.

We finally get some more details about American Horror Story S2 | Blastr

Creator Ryan Murphy revealed the second season's setting at a panel discussion Wednesday, shedding more light on the tidbits we'd already heard.

"[Season two] is set on the East Coast at an institution for the criminally insane that is run by [season-one actress] Jessica [Lange]," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

The setting was actually teased in the season-one episode "Birth," where a psychic notes different places that are flush with supernatural energy—specifically mentioning asylums.

"[The tease came via] something that Sarah Paulson's character, Billie Dean, says to Jessica and Taisa as she's sage-ing the house and talking about places where evil collects: We talk about institutions and prisons and things like that," Murphy said. "That was the clue."

    GREAT addition!!!!!!

TV: Oscar and Emmy Nominee Plays Villain Role In ‘American Horror Story’ Institute | | Bloody DisgustingBloody Disgusting

Oscar and Emmy nominee James Cromwell (pictured below) has joined the cast of AMC’s horror anthology “American Horror Story“ from “Glee” co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, The Hollywood Reporter writes.

“American Horror Story”‘s second season will feature a new premise, location and while there will be some returning cast members, they’ll all play characters completely different from their Season 1 roles.

Murphy revealed last month that Season 2 would take place at an East Coast institution for the criminally insane that would be run by Jessica Lange’s character, potentially set in a different era as well.

Cromwell will play Dr. Arden, the foil to Lange’s character, who is his boss at the facility. The actor, who earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Babe, also picked up Emmy nominations for his guest turns in HBO’s “Six Feet Under,” NBC’s “ER” and a supporting actor in a mini for HBO’s “RKO 281.”

He joins a star-studded Season 2 cast that also includes American Psycho and Zodiac‘s Chloe Sevigny, who will play Shelly the Nymphomaniac, another foil for Lange’s character; Adam Levine and newcomer Lizzie Brochere, in addition to returning cast members Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe.

“It’s a completely different world and has nothing to do with Season 1; there’s not a mention of Season 1,” Murphy said recently. “The second season is set in a completely different time period.“
Really looking forward to season 2. Just love this idea and the sense of experimentation it could possibly bring to tv.

FX Develops a Female Serial Killer TV Series | CraveOnline

Move over "Dexter" and "Hannibal." A new serial killer may be coming to TV, and she's not to be taken lightly.

According to Deadline, FX is developing Chelsea Cain's novel "Heartsick" and its subsequent sequels into a potential TV series with Mikko Alanne (5 Days Of War) set to adapt the script and Geyer Kosinski ("Magic City") on board as an executive producer.

First published in 2007, "Heartsick" follows a damaged police detective named Archie Sheridan who spent a decade chasing the so-called Beauty Killer, Dr. Gretchen Lowell before she captured and tortured him for days. Gretchen then mysteriously released Archie and turned herself into the police. The "Heartsick" novel picks up some time after this as Archie returns to duty when a second serial killer emerges.

"Heartsick" was subsequently followed by three sequels, "Sweetheart," "Evil At Heart" and "The Night Season," with the fifth novel in the series, "Kill You Twice" set for release later this year.

Over on her blog, Cain laid out how the novel series would potentially be translated for TV.

"The plan is for 'Heartsick' to be season one, season two would be 'Sweetheart,' etc," wrote Cain. "They would be short seasons, like 13 episodes."

"[Mike Alanne is] terrific," continued Cain. "Trust me, he knows the characters as well as I do, and he's a true fan of the books. So I'm thrilled! We'll see if it gets carried all the way to fruition. They still have to make the pilot, and then pick up the pilot. (Details!) But it's a great team and I think they're going to pull it off."

FX is also developing "Inside," a police drama from playwright Kyle Jarrow and Philip Seymour Hoffman that follows a homicide detective who learns that his real father is a convicted serial killer. Given the linking themes, it's not clear if FX would be willing to greenlight two police shows dealing with serial killers.
