FX Teams With Stephen Gaghan For Limited Series About The Vietnam War - Deadline.com

They Marched Into Sunlight is part of FX’s major push into event series. The cable network just greenlighted its first limited series, an adaptation of Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 feature Fargo. Additionally, FX last week announced several other high-profile limited/miniseries projects in development as the genre is poised to become a cornerstone for FX’s sibling FXM (Fox Movie Channel): Grand Hotel from Sam Mendes, about a fictional terrorist plot in Paris; Sutton, from Alexander Payne and Michael De Luca, about the infamous bank robber; Mad Dogs, from The Shield‘s Shawn Ryan, based on the British black comedy/psychological thriller miniseries; and Mayflower, from producers Paul Giamatti and Gil Netter (Life Of Pi).

FX Developing Limited Series About The Fall Of The Inca Empire - Deadline.com

FX is adding another project to its growing slate of event limited series. The cable network is developing Conquistadors, an adaptation of the Kim MacQuarrie book Last Day Of The Incas. Written by producer Nicholas Osborne in his writing debut, Conquistadors tells the story of Francisco Pizarro and Diego de Almagro, two Spanish Conquistadors who above all odds conquered the Incan empire of 10 million with just 168 men, and Manco Inca and Cura Occlo, two teenage Incan royal lovers, who led one of the greatest rebellions in history. Osborne is executive producing with Scott Rosenbaum, who serves as showrunner, and Underground Films’ Trevor Engelson.

JUSTIFIED Season 4 Finale Recap: “Ghosts” | Collider

Solid season closer...like they mention in the article, last weeks episode felt like more of a finale with this being a postscript. Still...verrrrry satisfying. Poor doomed Ava and Boyd. I think we all knew that HAD to happen. Now, Boyd has all that he ever wanted as far as his criminal empire...but at what a cost. And Raylen, saved and most likely lost his family in one fell swoop. The ride to Nicky between Boyd and Raylen was the show in a nutshell. And really the prelim to the inevitable showdown that HAS to happen. Rough seeing Boyd on the losing end, but you KNOW the wheels are already turning on that score. Glad that Jere Burns and his ape are still standing. He's a vital character. And where is cousin Johnny? That has to factor in. Not the high body count I was expecting, but that's ok. Still Goodbye to Jim Beaver(probably, unless he is revealed as Raylen's real father) and Ron Eldard. Limehouse is still hanging in, so hopefully we will see the new, born again bbq master further down the line. So, note to Walking Dead, critical storylines resolved...check. Just enough dramatic exits of strong characters...check. The overal vision of the show clearly moving forward...check and double check. So get your **** together and TRY to be half as good as this show is.

Pretty much agree all over. It definitely felt less like a season finale and more like an epilogue, but was immensely satisfying.

Surprised the hell out of me all over. Loved the way Raylan got rid of Nicky. Goddamn, I wish I was that clever.

Gonna miss this show like crazy.

Oh, and I loved the reference to Friends Of Eddie Coyle. Such a great flick.

Justified producer Graham Yost looks back on the mysteries of season 4

Great post mortem w/Johnny/constable Bob and other news, but here is the answer to that question you asked Adgy

You say it's getting harder and harder. If you had your druthers, how much longer would the show run?

Graham Yost: Druthers, really, six years. Two more seasons. It's difficult. Tim and I will both say that it's the best job we've ever had in many respects. And Tim would say he'd happily play Raylan for the rest of his life, but then it's finding the stories that really intrigue us. And in terms of this world, a big part is the Raylan and Boyd relationship. How many more moves do we have of that? That almost becomes a bigger concern. And just the Kentucky of it. if we were to move the show outside of Kentucky, it would be a very different show that we couldn't put under the "Justified" banner anymore. "Justified" is Kentucky.

I know you and I are constantly harping about this show vs Walking Dead, but this quote from that interview stood out to me.

Was the plan always to reveal Drew's identity when you did, or was that also something that changed?

Graham Yost: That we knew fairly early on. We just knew that it would wear thin if we tried to string it out to the end of the season. The fear was that the air would go out of the balloon once we did it. But it was my feeling, and the room backed me on it, was there was enough to do after.
I'd say that maybe after Justified is over, Graham Yost can get hired on by AMC to show them how to run a show, but, well... I think I'd like him to continue working with Fx.
