BTW, thanks to dvr snafus I had to Amazon prime the run of San Marcos Archer episodes last night. What a show. They have evolved more than most 1 hr dramas do. Terrific shake up season and all a clever ruse...cause, spoilers...
Isis is back in bidness. Nicely done really. I tip my hat to the guys who write this because it really is well crafted. Also, it was nice to see them using alternate forms of animation (the palace being bombed f'rinstance). For a 1/2 hour cartoon about d_ _k jokes there sure is a lot of clever humor and heart(how bout that twist at the end???Aubergine...). But I want my Krieger clones spinoff.
Louie - 05/05/2014
Returns tonight w/2 new episodes...strangely on Fx instead of FxX(where the 1/2 hour comedies are supposed to go). That's a mistake imo, if Fx wants to cement FxX as a sister station, but they make so many other great decisions I will forgive them.
Louie returned with full-throttle weirdness in the first episode. The second one was more straightforward and funnier. Still weird, though.
[TV] "Freakshow" Villain An Evil Clown! -
Squee Squee double and triple squee even...Series co-creator Ryan Murphy reveals that “American Horror Story: Freakshow”, the fourth season in FX’s anthology series, will feature a killer clown!
…I thought it was going to be light but it’s turning out to be quite terrifyingly dark, which it feels much more like the Asylum season. But look — if you have a character named the Clown Killer, it’s going to be dark.”
When asked by EW for double confirmation, he replied:
“Yes,” confirms Murphy. “The most terrifying clown ever!”
Just got around to watching the first episode of Fargo. Wow.
And...Louie. Ok, I get it. Louie is like a day-to-day journal of weirdness that goes on in his life. Comedy is equal parts tragedy and triumph, right. But man...what was the point of that episode where Louie bombs compounded by elbowing Sara from Chuck because he has a 'violent reaction' to tickling. Follow that up with Louie having to pay $5000 a month for the rest of his life to pay for the paralysis of the cornea(?) of her eye? Or the whole 'subway rules' vignette. Maybe I am not smart enough to appreciate it, but sometimes uncomfortable is simply that. Seriously, that tickling episode gave me anxiety. I constantly compare Louie to Legit...and I sooooo like Legit better. At least along with the hard to swallow parts there is some humanity. Everyone in Louie's world acts like some cosmic melodrama actor or an unfeeling robot(most of the women). Yeah, not sure it's for me anymore. Oh, and I have NO problem believing that Jerry Seinfeld is the douche that Louie portrayed him as. None at all.
Louie is, like I said, weird. There have been some genuinely funny moments among the weirdness in past seasons but so far this season, not feeling it. Not ditching it - yet. Fargo I went into with absolutely no expectations about what the show was going to be like, so I think it helped. Billy Bob's creep and Martin Freeman's loser really got me hooked, though. Was not expecting Lester to hammer the point home to his wife like he did. And Colin Hanks making the wise move was just not you would expect to be done in a typical show.
FXX's 'Legit' & FX's 'Chozen' Cancelled - Deadline.com
DAMNIT. Chozen grew on me, and I have been a big fan of Legit...I don't know...I really love Fx, but banishing stuff to Fxx seems to be death. Not fair.
