Definitely go with Sons Of Anarchy. The third season has an incredible ending (I think it is the third season), although there is a bit of meandering for several episodes at one point. Have you already watched Justified?

Martin worried he can't write books fast enough for TV Thrones | Blastr

George R.R. Martin has been writing A Song of Ice and Fire books for two decades, but with HBO's hit series Game of Thrones gaining steam, he's a bit worried the series might catch up to the books too soon—maybe even before he writes the finale himself.

The book-based series has become one of HBO's biggest hits, meaning more seasons will likely be coming sooner rather than later. Martin said he's aware of the potential timing issues, and plans to ramp up work on the back half of the fantasy series. But, worst case scenario: The book and TV series wrap-up at about the same time:

"I am aware of the TV series moving along behind me like a giant locomotive, and I know I need to lay the track more quickly, perhaps, because the locomotive is soon going to be bearing down on me. The last thing I want is for the TV series to catch up with me. I've got a considerable headstart, but production is moving faster than I can write. I'm hoping that we'll finish the story at about the same time ... we'll see."
Martin admitted that he's actually been quite busy trying to keep the literary side a step ahead, in addition to working with HBO on the hit series:

"I'm working on [the next book], and a number of Ice and Fire related things at the same time. Not only The Winds of Winter, which is Book 6, but we're also coming out with a big concordance called The World of Ice and Fire, which is about the whole history of Westeros and will be lavishly illustrated. So I've been filling in some of the histories of the kings who ruled 200 years ago or 500 years ago. We've also been doing a map book, and I'm working on a new novella about Dunk and Egg, the prequel series I have. It's a slow process the way I write, especially books of this size that are as large and complex as they are. It's still a slow process."
The second season of the series, based on the book a Clash of Kings, recently finished airing. A third season, based on the third book in the series A Storm of Swords, is already in the works.
What do you think: Would you like to see the books wrap up before the show, or both wind down together?
    A) cut out all that other crap
    B) WRITE FASTER!!!!!!!

    From the 'OhForTheLoveOfBenjy' department...

HBO calls Thrones' Bush beheading 'unacceptable, disrespectful' | Blastr

Yesterday, we told you about a very odd (and accidental) Game of Thrones cameo by former President George W. Bush's head. Now, with the news all over the 'net and some viewers rather unhappy about it, HBO wants to let you know they're sorry.

To recap: A severed head that very closely resembles W appears briefly on a pike in a scene from the season-one finale, "Fire and Blood." Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss acknowledge that it is Bush's head in the DVD commentary, but are careful to note that it's not intended as a political statement. They just use whatever fake heads they have around.

But even with that explanation built right into the reveal, HBO felt compelled to let the public (and by extension, Bush himself) know that they're very sorry the former president's fake cranium wound up on the end of a stick in a castle that doesn't actually exist.

"We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste," the network said. "We made this clear to the executive producers of the series who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production."
So, apparently, if you already own a Thrones DVD that includes the Bush head sequence, you now have a bit of a collectible.

If Benioff and Weiss hadn't actually remarked on the appearance of Bush's head during their DVD commentary for the episode, we probably wouldn't be talking about this. Sure, some viewers might have noticed that the head bore a resemblance to Bush, but given that the face is mostly obscured by hair, no one would ever have been sure unless someone who actually worked on the show came forward and confirmed it. As it is, their offhand commentary remark landed them in hot water with their network (and some of their viewers), so they joined in with an apology of their own that also explains how the head made it to set in the first place.

"We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We can't afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush.
"In the DVD commentary, we mentioned this, though we should not have. We meant no disrespect to the former President and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise."

And with that, we can probably put this incident behind us (unless the president reacts to the news with a call for a cameo on the show as a living person), but you can bet we'll be freeze-framing on every single severed head we see from now on to make sure Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan don't also make the victims list.

    Yeah, but this quote...

"We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We can't afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. should have been the end of it. If HBO wants them to not have incidents like this going forward, increase the budget. It's simply HBO doing the standard distancing act. And, honestly...Obama may be failing, but I think even George W.'s staunchest supporters wouldn't argue that he had it coming.***

***(EDIT)I apologize, the double negative confused me and I could not get this idea to work...but I think you guys can figure out what I mean, right?

There are other websites for discussing Martin's writing speed, but it isn't writing the other things mentioned in that snippet that is what is making him take so long, it is the lack of writing in general. I am in disbelief that it has taken him this long to realize that he is going to get lapped by the TV show.

What are the odds/chances that they start making the seasons half of each book and put a little more detail into the show so they can slow it down? I, for one, wouldn't mind it that much considering how much meat there is in each one. They're getting the ratings, so they should be generating more money. . .but I can see them worrying about putting TOO much in there after some of the complaints of this season. However, I think the biggest issue stems from the fact that it was hard to keep track of everyone. Spacing it out more, and giving some more exposition, might be a good thing in the long run.

Not to mention that at one point, the stories get SO spread out. Heck, even Martin had to split what was supposed to be book four into two books in order to make sense of it all.
