Rejoice! 'Game Of Thrones' Beer On Its Way To You In Time For Season 3 | Geeks of Doom

HBO Global Licensing has announced a new partnership with the Belgian-style New York brewery Ommegang, which will see a line of Game of Thrones themed beers released.

The goal is to offer unique new beer offerings that relate to the themes, characters, and nuances of the fantasy world of Westeros.

The first beer that Ommegang will release will be called Iron Throne Blonde Ale, and it will launch nationally around the time that season 3 of the show debuts, which is March 31, 2013. Ommegang is currently distributed to 45 states and internationally, and the beer will be available on draft at some locations and in 750ml bottles, which come with a decent suggested retail price of $8.50.

After that, the plan is to release a second Game of Thrones beer in the fall, followed by two more seasonal beers at some point down the road.

You can learn more about Ommegang Brewery at their official website.

I don’t know about you fine folks, but I sure could use a drink. And a Game of Thrones beer sounds like it’d hit the spot pretty effectively. Thoughts?

Ommegang is a good brewery, they have made a good choice!

Any of the rest of you nerds try Romulan Ale? That **** was whack like no other. (Yes, I tried a six and yes I'm a nerd too)

Ugh! A horrible money grab by Paramount. They chose the cheapest brewery in Central America they could find and made a Corona knock-off with blue food coloring.

Wilko Johnson has terminal cancer | News | Classic Rock

He left the Feelgoods in 1977 and pursued a successful solo career. In recent years he’s branched out into acting, playing mute executioner Ilyn Payne in hit TV series Game Of Thrones. He believes he got the role as a result of his appearance in award-winning Feelgoods documentary Oil City Confidential. He last year described acting work as “interesting” but added: “I’m wearing chain mail, which is incredibly heavy and uncomfortable. That’s bad enough, but if I try to sit down, this big sword on my back gets in my way.”
Not known here for his music...but Ilyn Payne factors in considerably moving forward. Thoughts and prayers.
