Great 1st episode to season 3.. Didn't expect anything less.. Papa Lanister really bashed his son.
Many parts of the story line left untouched, gonna be a full episode 2.

Meh on episode 1. The number of storylines is way out of hand.

Oof, rough day to be Tyrion.

Hard times for Tyrion indeed, nice callback by Cersei to the 'well you haven't lost your nose' bit. And Doc, I apologize for alluding to the nonspoilery spoilers, but to suggest that something drastic and dramatic, on a show that is known for a 'nobody is safe' policy...isn't exactly foretelling the future. And the sequence I hinted at has been covered in articles everywhere from Entertainment Weekly(print and online) to the front page of Yahoo...in a bit more detail actually. So, yeah, I apologize if it offends, but it's not like I actually even said anything.
Yeah, Nasti...if the shuffling storylines are off putting you really aren't going to like things for this season or the next. They could do an episode next week with some of the other characters and never even touch anything that went on in last nights episode. There are a few characters in particular who are going to irritate simply because of the pace of their arcs.
Mild SPOILERY STUFF for the book readers...
Well, the inevitable(and necessary) condensing of some of the details were in full display last night. I wasn't too upset, there is a reason why it takes him seven years to write one of these books. Some of the longform mystery(Ser Dontos, Barristan Selmy) with the inevitable reveals are gone, but some of that stuff was way too padded out anyway. I trust the showrunners and writers, they seem to have made very good decisions as far as what to edit out.
The cgi worked better than it should have. The Giants were done well, just alien enough...like the wolves. The stretching actually lends a weird effect to their movements making them even more fantastical. And the Dragons have not reached that SyFy quality unbelievability(yet) so...well done.

I don't go to yahoo! I specifically chose not to read that issues of EW and I turn the radio to a different channel when people start talking Game of Thrones.

Whatever.... I'll just stop reading this thread forever.

Nope...I see your point and will try to be more sensitive from here on out. And yes, most times, like Usual Suspects I know going in that there is a twist. It does not spoil it for me, but everyones mileage may vary. It's just the world we live in. Like anyone who did not watch the Walking Dead finale last night...sorry, i have no pity for you. It's going to be a world wide everythings water cooler conversation all day and there is only so much you can insulate yourself from.

Yeah, agreed, lets face it though...Dany's story is going to be hit the hardest as far as editing. They just can't afford 10,000 extras in some of the more Cecil B. DeMille stuff from the books. my biggest sadness...
