To be honest, I was a little let down by the show last night. I think however, I built it up in my head before I watched.
*****SMALL SPOILER BELOW******
Someone refresh my memory though...who was the dude that gave Daenerys the flowers? I have ZERO recollection of him.

From start to finish, loved it! Tywin Lannister having Ice re-forged while "The Rains of Castamere" was playing was an awesome scene and the perfect opening. Oberyn immediately became an interesting character, I can't wait to see that play out. Also liked the Thenns, dragons, Tyrion crushing it as always, Jamie waving goodbye with his golden hand and the Tyrell matriarch's reaction when Brienne approached "my word!".
I got some minor complaints which didn't really detract much from the overall enjoyment of the episode but I'm gonna bring them up anyway. Them switching actor for Daario Naharis was a bit jarring, they look nothing alike. The new guy looks the part better I guess but it might take a few episodes for me to settle in. It might be for the better in the long run. One scene that didn't do it for me was Ser Dontos and Sansa, something was missing there.. It just seemed like they stood there and said their lines, it lacked chemistry. Another thing was how Jon Snow was up and walking with no issues straight away after being carried off on seemingly the verge of death with three arrows in him last season.
But man, the final scenes of the episode with Arya and The Hound was in my opinion up there among the best of the entire series. The Hound rules, I was laughing my ass off at every other line of his. "What the ****'s a 'Lommy'?" Polliver was great too in all his loathsome glory, makes me wish he would have been in it more.
I'm so happy the show is back!

Ahh, okay, makes sense now. The new Daario seems to be a much better actor also. The previous one seemed to be more of a meathead warrior whereas this one has much less blockheadness and more charisma.

They still got it wrong. He is too much Han Solo and not enough Pepe LePew meets Yosemite Sam. The character in the books is sooooo much more than what they have done with him so far. Thought it was a solid episode, not as sexy as it could have been simply because it was a piece mover and had to re-establish everyone(and some new folks). If you take the segments seperately they were very good, the OVERALL effect less so. But don't worry...this will probably be one of the only quieter episodes this season. And Brownie, I agree with you about Ser Dontos, but I hope it was intentionally awkward to establish stuff moving forward. As a reader of the books I am interested to see what they do with the show's markedly different Shae. Oberyn...meh. A little Montalban-y( I kept waiting for him to say Rich Corinthian Leather). Tywin melting down 'Ice' was a little too cruel. And yeah, The Hound is just the best. 'Of course you named your sword'...
