BREAKING: 'Trick 'r Treat 2' Is Happening!!! -
The little movie that could...lives again. Fascinating story...made by Warner Brothers and shelved for years, some say as a punishment to Bryan Singer(producer) for Superman Returns. Somehow Dougherty got a repreive from hostage hell to show the movie at AICN's Butt-Numb-A-Thon and other festivals. Word of mouth ensued and sooner or later WB warmed up and eventually dumped to dvd. Now, it's the Christmas Story equivalent of a Halloween flick. And, Dougherty always envisioned it as a yearly anthology with various participants with only the theme of Halloween and possibly Sam to connect(like Carpenter was trying to do with H3). Thankfully Legend took it with them in the split and now this. Would LOVE it if they went all A/H/S and involved actors like Bryan Cox/Dylan Baker in alternate parts. Thank you Thomas Tull of Legendary, you are quickly becoming my second fave exec next to Landegraf @ Fx.“Here at the screening and during the Q+A Sam came out with a note asking Michael Dougherty to make a sequel,” Dickson explains. “Dougherty says it’s not his call…it’s Thomas Tull from Legendary’s call.”
“This is when the Thomas Tull stands up in the audience and exclaims, ‘I can’t say no to Sam. Let’s make a sequel!’ ”
This is when the title card for Trick ‘r Treat 2 blasted on the screen to roaring exclamation from the audience!
The 2009 anthology features four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; and a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
Some of this year's Halloween reading.
