Figures. It didn't sound like you...so now you are a 'carving-purist' too? Does it really matter? So someone uses a stencil. Isn't the end result worth it? Some people want to participate but have no talent. Why would you begrudge them? Live and let live I say. then again, if I wasn't so heavily medicated...
