They supposedly moved it for dramatic effect. That way they would show some of the chaos surrounding the situation. I didn't mind it.
Went to see it the second time last night. Gotta say that it was a lot more enjoyable for me as a book reader knowing the story spoilers (i.e. book to movie changes). I guess that would be my advice, if you read the book, read up on changes from the book before seeing it, and it will make for a better experience. In retrospect, I wish I'd done that, and just stayed away from the visual spoilers.
That being said, I still stand by the majority of the statements in my rant above. While a couple of them need to be retracted (Fred is actually mentioned among the dead by Neville in his speech, and Harry knows the 5th Horcrux is Ravenclawian because of the Voldy brain connect session while in the lake), the others were still a nuisance, albeit not nearly as big a nuisance as on the first viewing. That final battle is still a wreck.
I think "movie mistakes" people are gonna have their way with this one. One I spotted, is in the Great Hall scene, when Harry steps out to talk to Snape he's wearing the school robes, but when he goes all verklempt when Voldy starts talking to the school, he's all of a sudden back in his regular muggle clothes.
I thought he took off the robes as soon as the Order came through the doors?
