John Boyega to Star in DA BRICK

As a young actor, you can’t ask for a much better debut vehicle than Attack the Block. John Boyega came out of that movie a star, but it was not immediate clear what Hollywood would do with a black, teenage, British star best known for playing a hoodlum. The answer is very satisfying: Boyega has signed with HBO to star in the boxing drama Da Brick. The show is loosely based on Mike Tyson’s upbringing, motivated by an offhand conversation between Tyson and producer Doug Ellin (Entourage). In the fictional version, Boyega will play “Donnie, who, after his release from juvenlie detention on his 18th birthday begins an exploration of what it means to be a man for himself and those around him.” Milauna Jemai (Lincoln Heights), Julito McCullum (The Wire), and Kamahl Naiqui Palmer (Gossip Girl) form the supporting cast.

If you haven't seen ATTACK the BLOCK...well, you suck. And you have no clue how awesome this kid is gonna be.

James Gandolfini and HBO Developing BIG DEAD PLACE

Curb was amazing last night. Bill Buckner, Leon, Larry's childhood story and of course, the car seat.

The last episode of true Blood was a bit of a let down. The previous episode ended with the vamps getting out of a van dressed in black and armed to the teeth and i got all excited for some action. Then the next episode there wasnt much. Although i did love seeing Eric drinking out of the heart.

It was 'high cheese'. Like all the past seasons they have a letdown at the end where the second to last episode is kind of a finale and the last episode ends on a cliffhanger to set up next season. I am so tired of the false 'death threats' to the characters. By the time they finally kill someone it will be anticlimactic. I don't necessarily want them to wholesale slaughter everyone, just stop with the unfullfilled 'someone is going to die' crap. Bill needs to start being a badass. He has shown signs of it after being a good guy to charm Sookie, but you know there is another Eric-like inner-vampire just waiting to be let loose.

I liked Jesus, so I'm a little bummed even though it was totally expected.

But seriously....they done killed everybody! Crazy season finale.

I'm just happy she's gone and hopefully Alan Ball doesn't find a way to bring her back!
