GAME OF THRONES Season 2 Teaser Trailer

Count me amongst the enlighted...finally got through the first book, and started on the second. The casting of Davos 'the Onion Knight' is really brilliant. Gonna be a tough second season. They need much more money to carry the scope of the thing. But, I simply cannot wait. Best show on tv, best series of books I have read since 'the Black Company'.

HBO Developing PLAYERS with Tom Hanks, WICHITA with Alan Ball

HBO has recently landed some heavy hitters with the incomparable Tom Hanks and the bankable Alan Ball both developing projects for the network. Hanks, teamed with long-time producing partner Gary Goetzman, will reunite with the network for Players, a half-hour comedy following the lives of college athletes.

Ball is switching tactics from the campy, sexy success of True Blood to develop Wichita, an hour-long medical drama about a Kansas abortion doctor caught at the nexus of a political, cultural and ethical conflict. Ball will executive produce the project, based on the life of Dr. George Tiller, along with Devin Friedman, who authored the related GQ article “Savior vs. Savior.” Hit the jump for more on both projects.

Just finished watching Season 1 of Boardwalk Empire. Not sure what to think, the show has a couple of interesting characters but lacks intensity. I had higher expecations, based on how some of my friends were raving about it. If someone asked me to summarize the plot of the first season I wouldn't have much to say, not much happened. I could describe the characters but the overall arc of the story isn't very memorable. I was waiting for it all to come crashing down or some big reveal or twist. They did a good job establishing the setting and key players but I'm still undecided as to whether or not I should keep watching and that's not a good sign after watching an entire season.

Maybe the fast moving plot of some of the recent shows I've been watching (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones) have somewhat spoiled me. I don't remember The Sopranos being all that plot driven either but I loved it at the time.

i thought the 1st season was good, probably because it has a different story line to it. We have way too many medical and police crime shows out there right now. The second season gets better and the episode from last night was pretty good. I would recommend watching at least the 2nd season to get caught up to the current week.

I think the whole purpose of BE's season 1 was to intro us to all the players and the overall story. There are so many characters. I had higher hopes for season 2, now that we know who's who and all that good stuff. I'm a couple of episodes behind, tho, so I'm not sure if it's better. I think I'm going to catch up tonight, tho. I hope I'm right.

i think my husband is in the same boat as you. he always falls asleep during this show and i'm always like "really?" but i think it's because as you say, it lacks intensity compared to the other shows we've been watching.

i agree with this. it's something different and i like the era in which it takes place as well.

why do i think richard is kind of hot? well, after you see last sunday's episode you'll think i'm crazy and i definitely didn't think that was hot. maybe it's his perfectly groomed moustache and the half of his face that isn't covered by the tin mask. owen sleater, now that guy is hot, too.

this. i cant stand those regurgitated shows. prime example for me is dexter. i liked it to a certain degree but the cheezy cop gimmick dialog kills it for me and i stopped watching after season 3. and nurse jackie as far as medical/hospital shows is pretty good. but im waiting for "csi san bernardino" or something ridiculous like that to come on (as a joke). i dig original stories alot. wether its books, tv, or video games.

i got around to watching this past sunday's episode of boardwalk. wow, that was pretty brutally violent. i had to turn my head a couple times. i think it was finally intense enough for my husband not to fall asleep, lol.
