Like that line but Jason's 'I don't give a twirly ****' had me laughing 2 days later.

And Newsroom. The show is calculated melodrama as cheesy and self important as the theme song and always ends in some 'music swells during an IMPORTANT moment' moment...AND I LOVE IT. The performances/characters are great and it is swiftly becoming one of the highlights of my week. Yes, Olivia Munn is, as everyone else, doing nice work. Liked the addition of Terry Crewes and the psychiatrist. The show is written the way we all wish we could talk with all the well-crafted 'snappy banter'...it's not natural, but it's just so good.

Aaron Sorkin faces The Newsroom critics at press tour

If this show was from anyone else it wouldn't matter. But Sorkin is a lightning rod...so a basically innocuous show gets mornegative attention than it deserves. Am I the only one who is increasingly enjoying this show?

Nope, but I'm pretty sure the GOP hates it.

I watched the first two episodes of Newsroom and quit. The first episode seemed like it might go somewhere but the second one lost me completely. I don't know when it started to happen, but Sorkin seems to like to overwrite his scripts these days and it's kind of pretentious in my eyes. No one even takes a second to breathe. I still love a lot of stuff that he's done (A Few Good Men, Malice, Sports Night, The Social Network, etc.) but this show just sees itself as so enlightening and important. And this is coming from a liberal. Plus, other than Jeff Daniels, I just don't care for the other actors.

Best episode of The Newsroom so far.

And True Blood...ok, the old Sheriff/Dragon storyline crammed too much in/resolved too quickly but the show has definitely been better lately. Like Bill's 'dark-side' moments and curious to see who killed Sookie's parents. Lafayette has become more and more affected, yet since he's become a background character again it's ok. I just hope they don't drop the Vampire war storyline too quickly. There is a lot they can do with that.
