Sounds REALLY depressing though don't you think? Maybe they make the disappearance have more of a bit of mystery instead of just focusing on the folks trying to deal with their survivors guilt?

No doubt it's a good story. I just wonder what elements they'l mix in there for longevity. I can't imagine a show that is always a downer week after week sticking around for too long (which might be a shame too). It works in movies, but episodic television needs more fun and excitement. We watch it to forget that our lives are going ****ty, not be reminded of it. :)
I gotta figure half the show will be about the people and the other half will be the gov't agency investigating what happened. Mix in a god vs. science debate and you'll have your formula. No doubt one of the main people will teeter between both sides as well as being involved in the investigation and lost his family. I say his because they don't often make the lead cop/detective/agent/hero a woman. Go figure.
