Yeah, reading reviews of that has done nothing but make me want it more.

Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator) Talks Ti West’s The Sacrament | The Talkhouse Film

I wish I could say that I enjoyed The Sacrament more than I did, but unfortunately the overdone conventions of the almost 35-year-old found-footage subgenre ends up doing it in. It also doesn’t help that the actual event they are presenting is even older. I just saw a rebroadcast of a real documentary of the Jonestown Massacre on CNN and found it about a hundred times more disturbing.

I saw it about a month ago and have yet to post a brief review but I found myself in a similar position. I thought it was well done and well acted for this type of low budget flick and I even think it's worth seeing. Ultimately though, I didn't find it scary and its inability to differentiate itself in any way from the a much scarier real life incident is really it's downfall. There is just nothing new here to see in either form or direction.

Wolf Creek 2 Blu-ray: Uncut Review

Wolf Creek 2 is an exceptionally well-crafted film, made with wit and intelligence. Whether it's a viewing experience one will enjoy is another matter...
If this sounds like your idea of fun, the Blu-ray is technically a safe bet, and the extras are superior.

This now 3 year old movie is finally getting a push. The company line is that it took that long to digitally add the horns to each frame, I smell bs. It has screened to mostly even(some good/some not) reviews. Getting put out at Halloween, so that will garner some cash. I think in the end this is just gonna be a curiousity. Aja was once a very promising director...not so much anymore.

Universal Monsters Series to Be Run by Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan

Look, you want to reboot the classics...fine. But go old school with the effects and actually use make-up. Otherwise these do not translate well and younger audiences just...won't...care.

I can't imagine there being anyone in the country right now who feels like another Dracula or Frankenstein movie would be a good idea.

Oh I would love one. I think the Frankenstein stuff on Penny Dreadful was the best part of the show...so it can be done. I just don't think that relaunching the brand as a tentpole collective is a particularly good idea. Niche stuff coverted to mass market is just going to dilute and sabotage any chance of a respectable end result. Kids just won't buy in and adults(who are the market) will just turn away. They have done this time and time again with the same results.
