That reminds me, did you guys see either of the films John Carpenter did for Masters Of Horror? I found a copy of Pro-Life on DVD for $3 the other day and bought it, although I think I remember hearing it sucked?
Rick Baker and Dave Elsey Interview SATURN AWARDS 2011
Despite the fact that Baker isn't very kind to the people that work for him I admire the man immensely. He really is the best at what he does and sadly the art of practical makeup fx will pretty much die with him...thanks cgi.:target:
Feast Your Eyes Upon The Taint - RIGHT NOW! FREE! | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central
There is nothing on this planet that can save you from the awe and power of the nasty, and we mean nasty, indie flick The Taint. It's riddled with moments that will offend just about anyone (except you of course), but you don't have to take our word for it! Watch it yourself. RIGHT NOW - and for the rest of June!
Directed by filmmaking duo Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson, The Taint stars Drew Bolduc, Colleen Walsh, Cody Crenshaw, and Kenneth Hall. There's so much we could say right now, but holy ****, does what you're about to see speak for itself.
According to the official website for The Taint, the flick is "a low-budget independent film made in Richmond, Virginia with the help of many incredibly talented local artists and VCU students. It is a testament to guerilla style filmmaking and a great example of what can be accomplished outside of the studio system with very little money". Judging by the effects work exhibited below you'll be hard pressed not to agree.
For more info, follow The Taint on Twitter and of course The Taint on Facebook!
The Taint is an intellectual experience. It is a violent and misogynistic film about violence, misogyny, and entertainment. It will poison the minds of men and turns them into raging misogynists who want nothing more than to crush women's heads with rocks. It features sadistic violence, gratuitous sexual content, and scenes of spellbinding dramatic interest. It also contains more **** explosions than any other movie ever. Itís the ultimate sexually-frustrated-male-nerd-emotional-masturbation-release film, done in the style of an 80ís horror-comedy.
Haunted Houses & Planes: James Wan & Takashi Shimizu Line Up New Films > The Playlist
”Saw” franchise creator and the man behind this year’s micro-budgeted hit “Insidious,” director James Wan has lined up his next, a haunted house movie titled [cue ominous music] “The Conjuring” reports Variety. Written by Carey and Chad Hayes the film will be inspired by the real life tale of the Perron family who in the 1970s spent a decade dealing with supernatural spirits in their Harrisville, Rhode Island farmhouse. It is apparently one of the most famous “true life” haunting stories of all time.
Shimizu-san... what has happened to you?Quote:
Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Takashi Shimizu best known for directing the Japanese and English language originals and remakes of “The Grudge” and “The Grudge 2” has a treatment set up over at CBS Films that he will direct. Titled “Flight 75,” the boring premise is a thriller “set on a transpacific airliner where the passengers encounter what appears to be a supernatural force.”
The James Wan one sounds promising.
I watched all the MOH episodes last summer, lol!
I had a lot of time on my hands. I'll get back to you to give you some recommendations, but we all know I have bad taste.
