BD Horror News - [Review] FF '11: First Thoughts on 'Paranormal Activity 3'!

While no means a perfect horror film, PA3, will easily satisfy fans of the first two movies in the franchise, and will, quite possibly, bring even more new converts, like me, into the fold. It's breezy, smart, tense, and is sure to raise the hairs on the nape of your neck. A definitive thrill-ride that should be investigated by any lover of horror films.

BD Horror News - [Review] FF '11: Second Review For 'Paranormal Activity 3'

Much like the Saw series, the existence of Paranormal Activity 3 is nothing more than a money grab. There’s not much that can be done with the story to keep it original enough to be satisfying, but Joost and Schulman manage to toss in enough clever scares and a decidedly creepy plot point to keep the series fresh and frightening. It’s not a perfect movie, but it’s damn entertaining.

ummm Paranormal Activity and the sequel were bunk. Wanna see a good 'found footage' flick, see Last Exorcism'.

Easy enough to take a scene out of context and write off the whole movie...

I'm not saying it wasn't a bit silly, but... it's well done for the budget they had and creepy enough.

I will say that I was down on the thing going in but it was just so bad what I saw...the old chestnut of the Ouija board, the entire conversation that takes place off camera while you are looking at a still shot of the living room (and yes, I understand the whole 'fixed' camera idea, but it was just sooooooo amateur. Style does not forgive bad filmmaking).

C'mon... you have to give the movie a chance to win you over as a whole. Don't go all BoobyTrap on me.
