    http://www.slashfilm.com/red-state-o...lk-show-pilot/

Kingsqueen was surprisingly unhappy with the BeAllEndAll K.Smith end of the con...she felt it was too self promotional.

Me, I was very happy that KSmith was upbeat and the footage of RedState was A-Maze-ing. Funny, he is going to bail on movies when he is finally finding the BALLS to just say **** it and venture out of his comfort zone. I love the man and will always be a fanboy...but this looks great

Moving away from Red State, Smith called out to his Twitter followers Tuesday asking if anyone in Los Angeles would want to be part of the audience for a TV pilot that he’d be hosting all week. Vulture followed up that surprise announcement with a bunch more info. Here’s what they uncovered:

Smith’s reps are telling celebs that the tentatively titled Kevin Smith Project will be “a daily 30-minute entertainment talk show for syndication … The idea is a Regis and Kelly talk show at the opposite end of the day for the opposite kind of audience — the 12-34 demo. Kevin and his co-host will talk water-cooler topics at the top of the show, followed by a celebrity interview and a comedy segment from the field (a la The Daily Show). Each show will feature one celebrity interview.” The message also gives a hint as to which studios might be behind the project: “The show is being positioned to air following TMZ, in the 6-8pm time period on the Fox stations in all the major markets.” TMZ hails from Warner Bros. Television’s Telepictures unit, so that studio could be a likely home for Smith; the Fox stations also could be behind the show via their sister studio, Twentieth Television.

If you’ve heard any of Smith’s Q&A’s, his podcasts, or shows on S.I.R., you know he has the personality for something like this. The biggest issue I foresee is that Smith is at his best when he’s uncensored. If the show really was being positioned for Fox, would you want to see a G-rated Smith?

Kevin Smith: Too Fat for 40 Blu-ray

Last month it was announced that Kevin Smith and SmodCo made a home entertainment deal with the Shout Factory to release the animated series Smodinations and the comedy special Kevin Smith: Too Fat for 40. Part of this deal has come to fruition as Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the Blu-ray release of Too Fat for 40.

The comedy stage special, which has the writer/director doing stand-up in Q&A format in Red Bank, New Jersey, will be released on November 8th with the SRP of $26.97.

This will most likely include a full cut of the show (which was 3 and a half hours) and not the two hour version that premiered on EPIX last year. Special features and technical specifications have yet to be determined.

Kevin Smith on ‘Hit Somebody’: I’d Rather End With a Less Predictable Closer | Film School Rejects

Rumors that Hit Somebody – Kevin Smith‘s forthcoming final film about a young man named Buddy making his way up through the ranks to play pro hockey – would be two movies have been floating around, so we decided to go to the source himself for confirmation and a few questions over the old email machine.

As for the rumors, we can confirm that they’re true, and Smith had a brief plot outline of where the split would be, saying, “It’ll be one flick cleft in twain. Looking like part one ends at the close of Buddy’s first pro game, 1972-ish. Flick starts in 1954. Part 2 ends in 1980.”

No matter how many movies it’ll be, this project is definitely his last. To that end, I asked why he didn’t want to make a trilogy, and he responded, “Everybody does trilogies. I’d rather end with a less predictable closer. Predictable would be Clerks III, but a two-part hockey epic that’s largely about Canada, featuring an all-star cast? That’ll have some scratching their heads and others saying ‘It’s kinda perfect.’”
