Movie Review: The Muppets | Geeks of Doom
Talk about a turnaround.Quote:
So, let me start this review by saying I wasn’t the hugest fan of The Muppets characters when I was growing up and I’ve never cared for musicals. Even today I have a healthy respect for the fandom and appreciate the iconic nature of Jim Henson’s creations, but am still not what I’d call a fan of the franchise. So with these caveats in mind I may actually be the perfect person to review this film, simply titled The Muppets, or the absolute wrong person...
...So, The Muppets is a near perfect movie. There are a few minor hiccups along the way but overall the film is just fantastic. It’s cute, it’s clever, it is nostalgic, it has a standard but well delivered message for kids, and most important of all it’s just plain hilarious. This is one of the best true family films I’ve seen in years. If this film doesn’t revitalize the franchise then it’ll be a true crime.
oh and not sure if it's been mentioned, but there's a new toy story short before the movie which was pretty good too..
Harry's thought a lot about THE MUPPETS and this is kinda honestly where I'm at...

'Mahna Mahna': How a ditty from a soft-core Italian movie became the Muppets’ catchiest tune. - Slate Magazine
“Mahna Mahna” is as catchy as a song can be, like a fishing hook stuck in your tympanum. Most people know the tune from a classic sketch that aired during The Muppet Show’s 1976 premiere, in which an orange-haired hepcat unsuccessfully tries to persuade two hot-pink creatures with long, disapproving snouts to get into the “Mahna Mahna” groove. But the bit goes back further, and the song further still, originating in, of all places, an Italian soft-core movie called Sweden: Heaven and Hell.
LOL: Fox Business Report Says ‘The Muppets’ is Brainwashing Kids Against Capitalism and the Oil Industry | /Film
You probably didn’t realize it at the time, because that would defeat the purpose of the brainwashing, but when you took your kids to see The Muppets, you were playing right into liberal Hollywood’s plan to indoctrinate your kids into a belief system in which wealth, corporate success and the oil industry are great evils. In other words: The Muppets hates capitalism, and by taking your kids to see it you, and your young children, might start to hate capitalism, too. Maniacal laugh!
That’s the argument of a report from Follow the Money on Fox Business. Check it out by clicking the link.
