Django Unchained just looks like a fun movie. Hopefully it delivers.

My favorite living director since my all time faves are Stanley Kubrik and Alfred Hitchcock. You can't go wrong watching all the movies by each guy.

So, take out great performances by Pacino, Williams, and Swank and you've got nothing? Guess The Phantom Menace would be great then if not for the crappy job the actors did right? Lucas didn't have anything to do with it at all? Same with Heath Ledger. Directors don't bring out anything in an actor. He could have been better in A Knights Tale if only he wanted to. Scripts and direction be damned.

...and the gimmicky Memento? The one he also wrote as well as directed? Speaking of gimmicky, how about that Pulp Fiction. POS movie because it was clever and cut back and forth between times right?

You may not like Nolan because he's too dark, you may not like him because he seems a little "I'm too good for you", but to call him a hack or bland or any other adjective like that is just hating on a person because you don't like their personality. This "if you take away x,y,z" in his movies you can see how weak he is just rings hollow. Of course he would. Take away lighting and specific camera angles and Hitchcock isn't anything special either. The simple fact that you would HAVE to remove those things that they did to make them boring just goes to show you that they aren't.

Also, for the record, I love QT and think Jackie Brown is sinfully boring. Almost moreso than Death Proof.
