Been a while since we heard anything about this.

Tim Robbins & Will Forte Replace Dennis Quaid & Ty Burrell In 'Jackie Brown' Prequel 'The Switch' | The Playlist

Will Forte and Tim Robbins will be replacing Ty Burrell and Dennis Quaid, but the rest of the cast, which includes John Hawkes, Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Jennifer Aniston and Isla Fisher, still remains intact. Hawkes and Bey are playing the younger versions of the Louis and Ordell characters, previously played by Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson.

The Elmore Leonard adaptation, set fifteen years before “Jackie Brown,” follows Louis and Ordell as they come together with a plan to kidnap a corrupt real estate developer’s wife (Aniston). When the husband refuses to pay the ransom, their plan starts to get complicated. Tim Robbins will be playing the real estate developer, and Will Forte will play a witness to the kidnapping.

Zoe Bell Explains Her Mysterious Masked Character In 'Django Unchained' | The Playlist

Bell was speaking on the “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters” red carpet and explained what had happened to her character. “There was a backstory and there was going to be a fight sequence,” she told E!, “but I guess when you’re getting such brilliant **** with Leo and Jamie and Christoph, you just keep shooting and time got kind of crunchy.”

During that fight scene, we’d probably have gotten to see why Bell’s character was wearing that mask later in the movie too. “Part of my face was missing,” said Bell bluntly when asked what the deal was with the mask. That’s a pretty damned good explanation, and a great way to frustrate the film’s fans who would love to see all that stuff but will never get the chance.

Goddammit.

There are lots of juicy bits inside: Uma Thurman wasn't sure she wanted to appear in the picture because of the gimp/rape scene, Harvey Weinstein was dead-set against giving the role of Vincent Vega to John Travolta and more. But perhaps the most striking elements are the early casting choices. Weinstein instead wanted Sean Penn or William Hurt for the Vega role, but according to Mike Simpson, Tarantino’s agent at William Morris Endeavor, “Daniel Day-Lewis and Bruce Willis, who was the biggest star in Hollywood, had both gotten their hands on the script and wanted to play Vincent Vega.”

We know Willis eventually landed in the role of the boxer Butch Coolidge. And there was another actor who essentially had the role if he wanted it, but actually left it on the table because of his indecisiveness.

Tarantino had promised [the role] to Matt Dillon.

“So he gave Matt the script,” Simpson tells VF contributing editor Mark Seal, “and he read it and said, ‘I love it. Let me sleep on it.’ Quentin then called me and said, ‘He’s out. If he can’t tell me face-to-face that he wants to be in the movie—after he read the script—he’s out.’” So the role went to Willis. “Once I got Bruce Willis, Harvey got his big movie star, and we were all good,” says Tarantino. “Bruce Willis made us legit. Reservoir Dogs did fantastic internationally, so everyone was waiting for my new movie. And then when it was my new movie with Bruce Willis, they went ape****.”

Italian Composer Morricone Slams Tarantino, 'Django Unchained'

“I wouldn’t like to work with him again, on anything,” Morricone told students in a music, film and television class at Rome’s LUISS University, according to Italian media reports Friday. “He said last year he wanted to work with me again ever since Inglourious Basterds, but I told him I couldn't, because he didn’t give me enough time. So he just used a song I had written previously.”

Tarantino is frustrating to work with, Morricone said, observing that the two-time Oscar winner “places music in his films without coherence" and "you can't do anything with someone like that."

Morricone said he saw Django Unchained but was not impressed: "To tell the truth, I didn't care for it," he said. "Too much blood."

"Slams"?

Apparently he doesn't get the genius of QT's musical madness either...I get it, he's old fashioned, European...not to everyone's taste. But to imply it is random and without purpose I disagree.

Same here. QT's soundtracks are consistently excellent.
